Would you allow your opponent to field a Black Templars Baneblade in Apocalypse?

Fluffy reasons behind it: As a show of gratitude for their assistance in the battle for Armageddon, Commissar Yarrik gifted a Baneblade to the Black Templars.

It would be the standard Baneblade model, no special upgrades on it, just painted in Black Templars colors and using all the rules for a base Baneblade. All the weapons on it aside from the Baneblade Cannon are used for Space Marines anyway, so its not like your getting a bunch of new weapons in your arsenal. All they really get is a big shiney tank that looks awesome.

Well that should be fun then. I personally think a Baneblade would look awesome in BT iconography and colors too. Though if i try to field it at my local GW store some of the people there are douches with the rules and would probably pull something like "oh its an IG model not a SM one so you cant field it!" I could really see one of the guys trying to do that, but he just hates me cause i killed his Trygon the turn it deepstriked (deepstruck? idk to put it), lol.

I don't see anything wrong with the idea...

If anything, I can see the BTs tooling around in a Stormlord- Imagine the fun of all those Templars deploying deep in enemy territory... :victory:

Well the guy who said you can't use it can go screw himself with a rail road spike and hammer- Apocalypse means anything goes, if you wanted to have your Commander riding a Tyranid Bio-Titan like a horse you'd be well within your rights to do so.

This brings up another question I have, and making another thread with the same title would seem a tad redundant for me, so i'll just post it here.

After looking up all the different Baneblade types, the Stormlord did seem the best for Black Templars as it's really close to how the Crusader is set up, I was just wonder, the "40" passenger troop capacity, would that imply 40 Marines or 20 Terminators (as they take up 2 Marine slots in other vehicles), and also a question on the rules for the Stormlord, the Options in particular.

It says for the options "A Stormlord may replace its two side sponsons with armour plates, increasing its side armour to 14 at no extra cost. It may
instead add two extra sponsons, each with one lascannon and
one twin-linked heavy flamer or heavy bolter for +100 points."

Does that mean you can have the two Sponsons with Heavy Bolters, and then for 100 points more, add two more Sponsons for a total of 4 Heavy Bolter Sponsons?

Yes you'd have four sponsons in total, the two you start off with, plus the two you buy for 100 points. Also you've got it correct when you say that the tank can carry 20 terminators, as each terminator counts as two models for the purpose of transportation in a vehicle.

I did a little more 'investigation' on things i could do with this thing in my army for apocalypse, and i was told "if you ever field that thing theres going to be a special place in hell reserved for you."

Being Black Templars, I get to enjoy the ever so lovely ability to field heavy weapons in a 5man squad. i can either:

A) fill it with 8 5man squads giving each squad a heavy weapons meaning i can have 8 heavy weapons, and 8 melta/plasma guns and 4 bolters firing from the platform in addition to the tanks 4 heavy bolter sponsons that each have a lascanon, the hull mounted heavy bolter, and the vulcan mega-bolter.

B) fill it with 4 5man squads of terminators with 2 assault cannons each adding 8 assualt cannons (32 rending shots of doom) plus 12 storm bolters for added fun.

Sure this would fall somewhere along the lines of a "putting all your eggs in one basket" squad as it would be close to 1800 points total, but it would be fun as hell if you got the first turn :D

Try taking 6 IG Heavy Weapons Platoons with Autocannons - that's around 36 S7 shots in addition to APTTG! giving you 30 Vulcan Megabolter shots. Or be extremely random and put 20 Ork Lootaz in there with their potential 60 S7 shots.

All those shots just seem overkill!

I'd be be tempted to fill it with chaplain lead lightning claw termis, with the BT special assault abilities thats alot of close combat death

Theres the intresting thing... If you made rules for a Commander, mounted upon a Bio-titan... Would they be legitimate, or is are custom data sheets only for friend games? :p

Where does it say Heavy Flamer OR Heavy Bolters? In my Apoc Reload, it just says heavy flamers, which I did not realize until after I built mine. I'm currently in the process of "fixing" it to look like Heavy Flamers instead of the Heavy Bolters I built it with.

Apoc is designed only for friendly games anyway so as long as you ran the proposed rules by your friends and they were ok with it (it's someone riding a Bio-Titan likes it's a pony, awesome seems too small a word) there's no problem.

A mate of mine made a SoB Hellhammer..replaced all the Lascannon Turrets with ones from the Immolator. Also replaced the Fuel Tanks on the back with Penitent Engine Pilots, plus it had all the suitable 'bling' that you'd expect...looked really great!

You can build anything you like really..just make a Datasheet for it and give it appropriate rules, stats and points, and pass it by your usual opponents and you're good to go.

Copied strait from the Stormlord datasheet on the GW website:

OPTIONS: A Stormlord may be given the following upgrades
from Codex: Imperial Guard: hunter-killer missile, pintlemounted
heavy stubber, pintle-mounted storm bolter.
A Stormlord may replace its two side sponsons with armour
plates, increasing its side armour to 14 at no extra cost. It may
instead add two extra sponsons, each with one lascannon and
one twin-linked heavy flamer or heavy bolter for +100 points.
