Hi, I'm building a concept Deathwatch army to battle a friend's Tyranids. I was going to field them using Ultra rules, but I'm unsure. This is what I have painted and built. I'd like any input you guys have to help me burn the Tyranid infestation to powder.

HQ:
Commander - Unsure on upgrades. Model itself has a Jumppack, Chainsword, and Pistol
Dreadnought - Twin-linked Lascannon, Missile Launcher

Troops:
10 Tac Marines - Flamer, Lascannon, Rhino
10 Tac Marines - Meltagun, Lascannon, Rhino
10 Tac Marines - Meltagun, Lascannon, Rhino

Heavy Support:
10 Devastators - Missile Launcher x2, Heavy Bolter x2
2 Whirlwinds

Elites:
10 Terminators - Cyclone Missile Launcher x2

Fast Attack:
Land Speeder - Multimelta, Heavy Flamer
Land Speeder - Multimelta, Heavy Flamer

Yes.....I likes mah fires hot with lotsa splodies.

Well overall looks decent but could have some tweeks to optimize it against tyrannids.
This advice is if you run the vanilla codex btw.

Firstly regarding your commander- he has a jumpack but no escort? he will die really quickly. I recommend that you drop him in favor of a librarian in terminator Armour.

The dreadnought looks good but I'd drop the twin linked lascannon for an assault cannon but this isnt a necessity.

As for the tactical squads - lascannons are a bad idea they just dont work well. For fluff drop for heavy bolters or more ideally missile launchers. The sergeant could do with a power weapon however against tyrannids you'll loose if you get into cc so that really isnt a problem.

Devestator squad try and stick to one weapon here. Maybe bring the lascannons from the tactical squads into this so they can be dedicated to hunting down MC's.

Whirlwinds..... they suck they really do. Id completely drop these in favor of an auto/las predator or two. The will cause more damage.

The land speeders look good no problem at all here.

The terminators you could possibly split them into two units but not necessary. And if you opponent just brings lots of units switch the cyclone missile launcher to assault cannons but yet again this isn't always necessary just it allows for a more reliable kill ration (missile could easily miss the unit)

Thx for the reply. I like your ideas, and can easily move things around. What is your opinion on Plasma Cannons or Combi Weapons? I have a few of those, but I don't really know much about their effectiveness.

Here's a revised list. I think this one looks really good. It tops at 2000 points exactly.

HQ:

Librarian - Boltgun, Force Weapon
