There is limited information on Q-Ships. I have scoured the net but all I can find is that they are disguised merchantmen with hidden weaponary. There is nothing about size, weapons or crew compliments.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

There's nothing on size or type of ship because it's a wide variety of ship. Your essentially looking at the undercover bodyguard of merchants and convoys.
