I'm just curious as to what the "standard" point limit is at your local gaming group?

Where I'm playing it seems to vary between 1500-2000, all depending on who you're playing against. I ask because I'm trying to create an army that I can play within that range, at 1500, 1750 and 2000. Trying to keep things flexible but still field generally the same army.

1999 has been the most common since 6th. There's a common consensus that we don't have to make the FoC even more irrelevant than it already is by going over 2000. Unless we play 3999, that is. Because any monkey can make a spam list at 2000, especially with allies in the mix.

1750 is almost a given, at my FLGS. In both places I play, in fact. I make sure to ask before every game I play, but almost invariably we settle on 1750. I find it's large enough for fun toys, but not so overwhelming or time-consuming as 2k. If I'm in a hurry, I'm not above recommending 1500 points, though.

Generally its 1500 wherever I play in the UK, except for a minimal amount of tournaments.

I really like this size at it means you only get to take a few of the really powerful toys but still get a good game.

The most commonly agreed upon points total in my gaming group is probably 1850. We do, however, play at many different totals so while 1850 is the most common we really play anything between 1000 to 10.000 (Yes, we play Apocalypse on occasion).
