I converted this model when the plastic Chaos Terminator Lord came out. The old metal model although still a classic just does not fit in with the current plastic Terminators i mean a chaos lord's bodyguard should not be bigger and taller than him right.

The conversion is really simple to do here are the things you will need.
1:A Plastic Terminator Lord Box Set
2:An Abaddon the Despoiler model you will have to buy the hole model sense GW no longer sells bits:threaten:.

The only bits you will need is the Top Knot,The Talons of Horus, and the Daemon Sword Drach'nyen.

Do this after you glue the head to the body so you can get it in the right spot. Now carefully cut off the Top Knot from Abaddon's head then find a drill bit that is alittle bigger than it is and drill a shallow hole in the top of the bald plastic head then pin the Top Knot to the head.

Next use the Sorcerer's staff arm cut it off at the elbow then test fit it so it will be where you want it. then pin Drach'nyen into place. Next you will have to cut the elbow off of The Talons of Horus then cut off the Combi-Bolter arm at the elbow and pin it into place. After that your done.

One thing you might want to do before you attach the head to the body is glue on the Trophy Racks so that the head can fit on better.

Have Fun " I know i did"

Also my friend MBG Rob Bear from FTW Games took the pictures of my model at Games Day this year and kindly posted them on his web site.

Wow how did I miss this. Well let me break it down easiest:

Nice to bring a classic model to the modern era. The conversion is well pulled off and smooth looking. Overall cost is a bit high since you have to use 2 kits but that is to be expected at times.

The 'Talon' looks a bit boxy for the rest of the model, it is not as stream lined as the rest of it. The chest piece could use some decoration to make him look more like Abaddon. He seems a bit static but that could be the angle of the stance he is standing in. The only real complaint I have is the trophy rack, it makes the model look a bit cluttered. Primarily that huge winged DA helmet.

Very nice converstion overall tho, makes me want to do one!

Thanks guys for responding to this thred. @ djinn24 I know he looks kind of Static i had planned on have him pointing or look like he is fireing his combi-bolter but the weight of the Tallons made him fall over. So i made him look like he had just steped up on top of the Chaos Icon ready to shout out a challange to any hero dumb enuff to face him. I hope this coversion helps people out that want a great looking center peace for their Chaos army. I think i also have 2 outher threds for converting plastic Plaguebearers and Bjorn the Fellhanded.

Excellent conversion Judas! I will echo what Djinn said as far as the pose being a bit static, but that is a qualm I have with the Terminator Lord model in general. Your conversion work on it is nicely executed and definitely makes Abbadon look more consistent with the current range of models. Good work mate!

@ Salio- Thanks for finding this in the archives and giving it the bump it deserves!

First and foremost.. TASTY CONVERSION ! Being an avid converter myself I applaud you and your wonderful addition to our beloved hobby. I am tempted to take your idea and make it my own, with my own FFX twist to it. I've been looking for an idea for a Khorne Lord in Terminator armor and you sir have given me a solid base to work from. I have the Zhufor mini but he's not quite what I'm looking for. I'm inclined to build a menacing chain axe in the hand that holds the Demon Sword and keep the Talon of Horus. I am a firm believer that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. I'll post up my version of your conversion once I get around to it.

Lastly, +rep mate.

edit: Dammit, now I'm going to have to buy ANOTHER Chaos Lord mini.. This'll be the 3rd or 4th one.

Well speeking of Khorn Lords i converted one from the Terminator Lord model cutting the hammer parts off of a plastic Thunder Hammer to make a double headed chain ax type Daemon Weapon. Then i cut the axe parts off of 2 Khorn Chain Axes from the Berzerker sprue. I then filed down the back ends of the ax heads so that they were flat enuff to glue onto the Thunder Hammer shaft. After that was done i glued the arm into place. I then took the Buzz Saw arm from the Ork Nobs sprue and glued it on just to make him look like the sick nasty killing basterd that he is.

Sounds rather labor intensive, which is fine. However I'm leaning towards using the rather large chainaxe heads off of the new Ork Nobs. They're great for Khorne Conversions, and plastic so I love them. I used them on my Beastzerker Champions.

Glad this got a bump recently. Fantastic work. I agree that abaddon is too small when compared to the current terminators. Not a problem for me as i still have 10 of the metal chaos termis. The thing with this conversion is that the remaining model bits don't need to go to waste. They will still make a good termi lord or champ so the cost shouldn't be an issue.
