Plasma Rifle?

I had the idea for my Home Brew Legion that I will hopefully be getting special Characters sculpted for soon. One of those characters will be a scout Captain.
Seeing as though the Primarch was really nice mates with the Mechanicum I was wondering if the Idea of a Plasma Gun-Sniper Rifle hybrid would be too far fetched?

A purely impossible, the heat waves would simply evaporate at such a distance a sniper rifle is fired at.

Funny, allot of my life long friends are scientists and physicists. They were sitting in the pub with me a week or two ago and said, "Hey, lets make a Melta gun. it can't be that hard."

I just had to laugh.

There are stars 1000x the size of ours so our is actually ver small considering.

Back to topic, then yes I think I will get someone to scetch a rough Idea for me then I can get it sculpted.
