quick question..the book says you cant mix and match close combat weapon types etc.then under the pg49 how many attacks it say you get +1 for 2 weapons.

so my question to solve an argument is that..if you have a specialist weapon(say powerf fist) and a pistol you get a bonus attack...but only at S user ap - not at the power fist AP and strength?
what the general thoughts?

+1a with the powerfist. Only if you have two different specialist weapons, say Powerfist and Lightning Claw you don't get the extra attack and must choose which weapon to use.

wrong. you get an extra attack with double specialist weapons alone. if you have a pistol and a specialist weapon, you don't gain anything. If you have two different weapons, you choose which profile of weapon you use. So say, Powerfist + pistol, you choose STr user AP - or Str x2 Ap 2 unwieldy when you attack

So a normal tactical marine doesnt get any extra attacks for the pistol either then??

To get the extra attack they will need a pistol AND a cc on thier profile.

The pistol allows a marine to fire the pistol and still assault, which they can't do with their bolter--but just having it doesn't give them a bonus attack unless they have another thing that can count as a melee weapon too (another pistol, a ccw, whatver)... that isn't a specialist weapon.
