Evening all

Just writing my shopping list for tommorow to spend my Christmas bonus on plastic crack, (starting a Blood Angels force) and I'm tempted to buy the Sanguinor model.

After re-reading his fluff I'm interested to hear people's takes on him; is he a psychic manifestation? Is he Azkaellon re-incarnated/eternal? None of the above?

Keep your eyes peeled too for my project log that I will be starting over the weekend with any luck! :good:

Maybe the Sanguinor shows up based on the psychic feedback of the Blood Angel forces before battle? If their anxieties/blood lust/whatever tune to a specific frequency in the most dire of situations and bam: Sanguinor, here to save the day.

Isn't he like the stark opposite of Astorath the grim? Not sure on my BA fluff tbh, although Fear to Tread was pretty awesome and I like the Azkaellon idea but I seem to remember hearing somewhere that Angrath kills him at Terra - don't take that as gospel though as I say I'm not clued up on my BA.

Azkaellon survives the Heresy. He is the only on of the Sanguinary Guard left behind when Sanguinius teleports aboard the Vengeful Spirit. He oversees the breaking up of the Legion into chapters as decreed.

I've listened to the Sanguinor audio, it's all a bit confusing tbh and not entirely clear. Will post later when I've got more time with what happens.

It's a little odd and as I said unclear. But here's an attempt.

Basically, the Sanguinary Guard or more pertinently Azkaellon are worried about the safety of the Emperor of the Imperium Secondus/Sanguinius. So they start to pick one amongst their number to become his voice, to listen to all those seeking an audience, including the other Primarchs. They seal the chosen Guard inside of his own death mask, moulded on Sanguinius from what I recall and their names are erased. They don't seem to keep the position permanently, as when a new one takes over, the old one is killed. Said voice is called the Sanguinor.

I'd really have to listen to it again, only heard it once and was driving at the time listening to back to back audios. Sadly I hate audios(was a very long drive) and really don't want to listen to it again anytime soon, as it was worse than most I've heard. So May have missed a few points here and there or confused a few areas. In any case, the Sanguinor is, as of the Heresy, a Sanguinary Guard, whose name is forgotten, sealed inside of his own death mask(a very painful process), and who speaks for Sanguinius(the new Emperor of Imperium Secondus) to protect the Primarch from any assassination attempts.

Dang, that old one was a hell of a way to start an army. I do like all the new things we get now though, one day I'll end up getting the box for a third Furioso and Sternguard. Plus who doesn't need more gribbles for Character models as well, right? I look forward to seeing your progress. I gotta dig out some red paint myself...

On topic, if what Angel of Blood is saying is true as to how the Sanguinor came along I don't get why is it such a mystery to current Blood Angels. Maybe some type of Draigo-esque stuck in the warp but able to make it out for battle sometimes thing but he's been stuck so long they've forgotten about him/previously just thought that marine was dead.

Whatever happened to Meros after Fear to Tread?
