To get things started off, here is my submission for 40K Single Miniature:

Ok, the final entries are in and we will all choose the one we like best. The winner will choose the next category for use. Mine won't count as I am the one running it and there are only a few entrants this time. Vote away people!

Sure. Obviously the basecoat is black. Then the layers in order are

Black/Red Gore
Blood Red
Blazing Orange
Sunburst Yellow
Skull White

Each colour is added to the previous colours all the way through to keep hints of previous layers in the colouring. The only exception is the White, which has just the smallest mix of the other colours added in. It takes a little bit of playing around to find the mix you like but is very easy to do.

Right now there is no set category. After this round, we will all vote on who we think has the nicest model and that person will choose a category for the next round. The voting for that one will be for most improved paint job, NOT best looking.


For this round, final entries must be in by June 30th.

Are we allowed to post miniatures which we have painted up previously and have already been shown on the boards?, or do they have to be painted up in the time since the competition started?

Yes, absolutely you can do that. You don't have to do a brand new model for this ever if you don't wish to. I just ask that you take the proof pic to prove that the mini is in fact yours.

Nope, didn't forget. Editted my first post but I think that since there are only 4 entries beyond my own, I will disallow voting for me as I am the one running it. Gives more of a chance to you guys for actually taking the time to post a mini here whereas I did it mainly to get things rolling. I will be a full entrant in the next one or the one after that however so watch out!

I am thinking that voting will go until 11:59 Tuesday night.

Alrighty. Due to the site being down for a short time and a whole crapload of stuff going down around me in RL, I am a little late in announcing the obvious winner.

The Kudos Award goes to Hespithe for his excellent Eldar model. Hespithe will now choose the next category and I will get the next Open Category thread started in order to take submissions.

It will have to be something that consists of a unit though Anph. So a giant would work but a single archer from what should be a min sized unit won't.
