Many codex's are written from the perspective of fluff and are great, but on the tabletop some of the restrictions seem fairly pointless. What codex prohibited things do you wish you could do/still do?

Here's some of mine:

- Terminators with more flexible weapon like Chaos terminators have.
- Terminator Devastators packing heavy weapons. We all know how amazing oblits are.
- Tac squads lead by terminator armored seargents. Surely some chapters use their 1st company veterens to command squads?
- Less restrictions on the use of special and heavy weapons in tac squads. Perhaps no limit to the number of them but an increasing point cost on them?

The big one which annoys me is the lack of access to the best exarch weapons for the Eldar Autarch - even fluff wise they should be able to take any of the exarch weapons. Autach with striking scorpions biting blade would be awesome, tho it would really turn into a jetbike riding scorpion exarch - though this would still be fluffy, just a bit cheesy

Fluff wise i agree with you as Autarchs are poeple who have served with each aspect for a time and have come away with a few of the stuff.....however nowhere does it say he became a Exarch whiel he was with them. Reaper laucnher, Mandiblasters, Laser lance, power sword. These are all standard equipment for each aspect and none of his options are the lieks of a fire Pike, Scorpions Claw or Star Lance. It's safe to assaume that he would only have access to normal aspect warriors weapons as Exarch would not be great leaders (They are too blood raged etc and love battle too much)

I simply loved his rules, and his model... and now have to relagant him to the cupboard unless I want to use him as an oversized ravener, or an undersized trygon/mawloc... :cray: poor fella

Sounds like you some of you guys wants a STUPIDLY HARD UBER ARMY, that will not fit into game michanics. Although i would like to see the return of the wargear cards, eg the vortex grenade and the displacment field, it used to be avaliable to pretty much every army. Bring back 2nd ed.

and the Termintors with a 3+ save on 2D6!!!!!:shok::shok:

OP: almost everything you want (with a little restriction on the last one) can be done with Space Wolves.

WG in Termie armour leading squads, check
WG in termie armour with CML joining long fangs, check
WG which can be equipped with the standard TDA wargear plus combi-anything, check
you can't have a limit on special weapons, but you can have 2 if you have a full sized squad, and the 2nd one is for free, almost check
