Call me odd but I highly dislike nmm. Makes models look too cartoony to me.

Lol. I normally wouldn't go near NMM, but the model I'm painting has Scorch Light on it (light coming off another object (Flame, light etc)) and that's very hard to do well over metallic paints.

This is what it looks like so far (Nowhere near done). I still need to give it another wash and a few more highlights. Comment Please.
Keep in mind that this is my first NMM and Necron. Please don't be too harsh. Thankyou.

This was done differently to any guide I've read.
I've asked our painting pro at my local GW about NMM and we had a chat about them and the techniques. I tried doing what that guide says but I failed dismally. So Nick ( the guy I talked to) and I sat down and thought about what I could do for this model (It's going into golden daemon) and he suggested mixing a metallic paint with it's equivelant NM.
I based that with Tin Bitz+Scorched Brown.
Coated the whole model in Shining Gold+Vomit Brown
Flesh Wash
Highlighted with Shining gold+Vomit Brown
Highilighted with Shining Gold+Bubonic Brown.

I plan to now give it a really washed down Brown Ink and highlight with Burnished Gold+Vomit Brown and then Burnished gold+Bleached Bone for the final Highlight. Maybe even do a Burnished+Skull White for the extremest Edges if it looks too goldy still.

So what do you think of this technique?

Yes, I know Wraithlord.

I am afraid of the day i master NMM on my Golden Hands and post a pic you will hate them! :(
Never fear Anph, I doubt I will hate it. I may not like NMM in and of itself but I readily admit it can look nice and there is no doubt it takes skill to do. I just find that metallic paints look better on something that is SUPPOSED to be metal. Personal preference basically.

Blood: I would love to add my 2 cents and help out but I really can't on this topic. Never tried it, never will. Sorry mate.
