okey dokey ive recently came to relise tht chaos space marines, noise marines, and plauge marines all get a ccw a bolt pistol and a bolter soooo i was wondering

should i get 10 chaos space marines and give 2 of them assualt weapons (flamers probs) this means tht they all get 3 attacks in cc on the charge plus bolter pistol shots in the shooting phase which is alot of killing power goin against infantry.

or should i go for the noise marines which would alow some pinning power with the noise weapons it'll also allow me the upper hand in close combat having an initate 5.

or finaly plauge marines there tough beasties so hard to kill so i can survive the long walk over to the enemy and if i do get charged the enemy dosnt get the extra attack in close combat which i could use as a meat shield for my khorne beserkers

sooo okey dokey

wat i plan on doin is a combination force of khorne and another one since i'm not limited to wat i use atm

so wat are your thoughts

I suggest adding the plague marines because you are going to get strong cc out of your beserkers. So, I would use the plague guys as you said, a shield from oncoming fire.

get the infantry of your armies god
thts the thing i do like a good khorne themed army but usually the opponent fires all of his weapons at me zerkers to stop em gettin to close combat, so i was thinking it would be alot more effective to have combined 2 god army.

so with 2 different infantry types in my army i can develop my tactics for any battle. for instance goin against a very shooty army i can have my zerkser behind a unit of plauge marines and get to close combat but against a close combat army like nids i can use the blight grendades on the plauge marines to limit the number of attacks they have on the charge.

ive figured out with the toughness of 5 on the plauge marines the opponent is gonna need a 5 to wound em. but the models them selves are a bit on the pricey side a box of 7 costs £20. also feel no pain would also be very nice against pre assault shooting.

over all if i do get some plauge marines my army would be very desfensive in shooting and assualy phases. but also very offensive with support from the zerkers not far behind the plauge marines.

also the fearless special rule on both infantry is really a blessing.

I would say go with the plague marines, they aren't going to rip a unit to shreds, but once they are in combat they will sit and grind down a unit. They are really hard to kill and if they are in cover holding an objective, it can be really hard to move them. Not a big fan of noise marines, initiative 5 is great, but don't rely on the pinning, most of the time, leadership is high enough that pinning is useless.

Or you could go out into left field and get some Thousand Sons. You want to talk about a brutal fire support base for your Berz, that is it. 24" shots on the move at AP3, rapid fire while still being able to charge? Yes please.

Going with your 2 God theme I'd say Noise Marines as Troops and Khorne Marked Terminators as Elites, gives you great shooting and great combat power.

thts the thing i do want to get some tough support so plauge marines would be a obvious choice but i dont want to loose zerkers as the main infantry. atm i've come across the problem tht they are gettin destroyed befor i can get into close combat and also ive not got alot of artilery apart from 1 defiler with a battle cannon which i used for the first time the other day.
i dont really want to rely on rhino's there a nice addition but just get impailed with fire. plauge marines would bring alot of fire to them which half the time they can handle and there impossible to move since there fearless.

but with the initive of the noise marines close combat is gonna be more of a breeze since they get a bolter, bolt pistol and ccw so at +12 inch range fire bolters -12 inch range fire pistols it also works with plauge marines also am looking at the sheer price's of them both £20 for plauge marines and only 7 of em. incase ure wondering why i dont just convert normal chaos marines its because the GW store i go to insist upon the correct models., for instance some dude brought in some really really nice looking scratch built dreads and i mean really nice looking and the store wouldnt let him use them in the winter tournament.

Noise marines are too pricey for the most part. They're great on paper but fall as easily as marines against shooting. I second the notion that tsons may be the way to go for you. They're fairly resilient, especially against marine killers. It sounds like you've already got plenty of CC troops so the tsons weakness to melee isn't a big problem. Berserkers are pretty good for taking on hordes which is what the tsons suck at. They are really good at taking on MEQs though which is what your berserkers aren't as good at.

Barring that, CSMs with a mark of khorne, powerfist, and some assault weapons would be both fluffy and flexible (and are better CC troops for the cost than berserkers, IMO).

it kinda sucks now tht i cant give anything a mark of khorne bar my HQ since the only thing i can give them is an icon which just helps with deep striking.
the only thing tht gets the marks now are NM's TS PM and Zerkers
