Well after a nearly eight year hiatus from GW games, I have begun my very own tale of four gamers. I am building an army for my two kids, my wife and myself. My daughter loves princesses and knights, so she picked Brettonia. My son is a big fan of powerful wizards, so High Elves are a go. My wife, well she really doesn't care much, but is willing to join in for more family time, and she chose the Wood Elves. I have always been partial to the Empire- they are like little wee pansy Imperial Guardsmen.
I want to introduce the kids slowly, let them figure out movement and hand-to-hand, before adding in ranged shots, cavalry, war machines, etc, etc. To that end I have mounds of plastic around right now. I have completed builds and priming for Men-at-Arms, Warriors, Eternal Guard and Swordsmen. New reinforcments arrived today in the form of Bowmen, Archers, Glade Guard and Handgunners.
A couple months ago I built a game table, and started cranking out terrain. I got side tracked with a 15mm version of Utah Beach (complete now except for trees, a couple bunkers, and the marsh water behind the beach). So we are good to go with a place to play.
BAck to me, I have been gaming for years. All through college I was hard core into 40K. I dabbled in fantasy, then found Flames of War, which pushed everything into the background. I do tire of new editions to GW games, so I think we are going to stick with the 7th Ed rules- since I had just purchased them when 8th was announced....
I work too much, but it pays for minis and paint, so what the heh. I'll post infrequently bbut I will readd and lurk alot.
KT out.
