Hey all

I've been doing some rather hard snooping around to try and find out what the next HH book to come out after Descent Of Angels is about. For those of you who don't know all that it says offically on the BL website is that it is called Legion.

So I went looking and I found things :p . The book is going to be about the Alpha Legion of all Chapters. This kinda surprised me as they don't really play that big a role in the HH (I was hoping for Night Lords but expecting Thousand Sons). The book also has a rather large Imperial Army presence it as well apparently. And the big score (for me anyway) was the cover. Big because it isn't on the BL website yet. So without further ado I give you...

Now some people say that this book is in fact the 8th NOT the 7th due to the time period between Fulgrim/Descent Of Angels (and the events covered in those books) and Legion. Those are just rumours from 1 or 2 people so they are shaky as hell.

If you want to talk more on it - I've set up a thread in the fluff section specially for HH talk.

Awesome. I hope to hell that they do a book that focuses on the Thousand Sons and Magnus the Red though.

I agree with Firewolf. I feel that the 1k sons will not get there own book. I think they will get stuck in with the Space pups. Though i still think the book will be ace!

It's decent of Angels that intriges me. Are they going to show what the DA's did or not? IE "oh is this a fence post up my ass or am i just happy your here"?

Which just goes to show that they are as unable to think for themselves as the puppies they try to be like :D

Seriously though, the Emperor was a psychic yet he banned others from studying the same abilities. Then, because Magnus used his own psychic abilities to warn the Emperor that Horus was going to betray him, Magnus and his legion were given over to destruction, thereby forcing them to join with Horus in the Eye. You gotta admit, it makes for great reading material.

I know, right? Magnus was betrayed four times, and was loyal until Russ and his legion of drunks decided to raze Prospero. First, the Emperor shunned Magnus' use of sorcery. Second, he censured him on Nikea. Third, Magnus endured a purge of Prospero's psychically-talented by the Sisters of Silence following the Edict of Nikea. And finally, the Wolves came as Magnus' reward for his loyalty.

It's also kind of interesting to see how they basically twisted Odin into an Egyptian/Gnostic-ish character. There are a hell of a lot of similarities between Odin and Magnus, after all.

>> They never 'decided' to raze Prospero, they were ordered. But, the Emperor knew Russ and Mangnus didnt see eye to eye   , so he sent Russ knowing he would do whwt was needed, which was slapping the sons, and bringing the sorcerors back to Earth. Magnus was only defending himself and his legion, but he should have known he would never defeat the Wolves. Just my thoughts on the whole shit and shabang.

Plus it was the Horus who actually orderd the Woves to 'fight' the Sons, the Emporer had just told them to bring them to him. The Emporer didn't want them dead - just captured.

yeah, prety much, when magnus sent his warning it messed up the protective wards the emperor had set up in his makeshift webway, with the rends in the webway deamons flooded in and the emprors power was needed to keep the gate shut, the only other person able to sit on the throne was magnus, so he sent russ to get him, but russ was tricked by horus into thinking he was to take magnus's head back to terra and wipe out the thousand sons

So Battle is coming out before Legion?

Or is Legion coming out first, but Battle takes place first.

It seems the series right now takes a step forward at the end, and then back at the begining or each book.

First off the spell that Magnus used to warn the Emporer was more like a psychic nuclear bomb than just a simple psychic warning. It was so powerfull that it broke all the psychic wards on, in, and around the Emporers palace and it broke through the Emporers own mental pyschic blocks to beam the message straight into his brain giving him a bad migraine.

The worst part about this?? The Emporer was aware off Horuses betrayel. He felt it. He knew what was going on. What he did was order Russ to bring Magnus back to Terra by any means necessary. Now as we learn in "Galaxy in Flames" Russ stops to say hi to Horus on his way to Prospero at which point Horus kinda sways Russ to shoot first and ask Magnus back to Earth nicely second. Its this little tidbit of information that is part of the HH series but was not in the Collected Visions and previous fluff books.

Now the onto the second reason that the Emporer was peaved at Magnus... The Emporer senced the taint of Chaos in him when he used the warp to beam his message to him. It was all part of Chaoses sick twisted plan. Convince Magnus to use his powers to warn the Emporer thereby destroying all the wards around the Emporer. Now for those of you with the Collected Visions book you know what the Golden Throne was... it was the controller for a portal into the Webway. Without the wards this portal and the Emporers war to control the Webway was thrown into chaos quite literally. Daemons of the warp just started poring in to the Webway that the Emporer was creating and it took nearly all of the Emporers psychic will, the entire remaining Adeptus Custodian force, and all the Sisters of Silence on Terra to fight off the hoards of Chaos entering the Webway.

All this because Magnus just wouldnt listen to the Emporer when he said "DONT PLAY WITH THE WARP!" Magnus got what he deserved. He disobeyed the Emporer 3 times. First at council of Nikea, second by continueing to secretly train and study psychic powers, and lastly by using conjurations of the warp to beam his message to the Emporer.

This thread is in desperate need of more Alpha Legion related posts.
Cover Update:
Alpharius:

A Great War is coming, and it will engulf the Imperium of Man. The Space Marines of the Alpha Legion, the last and most secretive of all the Astartes brotherhoods, arrive on a heathen world to support the Imperial Army in a pacification campaign against strange and uncanny forces. But what drives the Alpha Legion? Can they be trusted, and what side will they choose when the Great War begins? Loyalties are put to the test, and the cunning schemes of an alien intelligence revealed in this latest instalment of the ground-breaking SF series, as the fate of mankind hangs in the balance.

The book is rumored to feature some surpises concerning established fluff.
