I would suggest losing the blasters on the reavers. Reason being to use the bladevanes you need to be turboboosting, in fact to survive you need to be turboboosting since you are only t4 w/ a 5+ save... Reavers turboboost between 24 & 36 inches each turn ensuring that at least one bike crosses an enemy unit (preferably those long-fang squads in the back), landing far from template weapons, next turn going back again. They should never be moving a short enough distance to be shooting.

If you don't put the wyches in a raider they'll just be a greasey smear even with a pain token.
You need can openers, not sure a voidraven will do enough to be effective, Mine has singularly failed to perform as well as a ravager so far, but that may be due lack of familiarity with its use.
Do you mean splinter racks? can't find trophy racks.
imho
Dump a wych squad (or both) and the raven and bulk up the incubi and add ravagers,

I think he meant grizly trophies.

Drazhar is so very expensive.

Wondering where the third homonculous is going. With 'draz' or with wyches?

I think that wwp lists are going to die out soon as people try them a few times. A wwp might be good to get a unit out at a point where it will do damage before it itself takes much damage, but the cost of this trick, the care in which it must be executed, and the unreliability of the unit showing will make it too unpopular.

I made a wwp heavy list to try to get my monsters out more effectively, but I don't really think it would be that effective either.

Probably the easiest and most cost effective thing to do would be to take the duke and just hide a ravager or raider transport and drop it in where it would be a surprise threat/support.
(of course then you have to deal with scatter.)

Have enemy tanks crossed your radar yet? Once they do, i think you'll find that you need a new list (or codex, more accurately). I don't blame you; it's the book. At 1,750 you'll be going up against 1 or 2 crusaders or more chimeras/vendettas than the vomit threshold. For a fun army, fine, for a competitive army.... different codex.

I have a 1500pt list with 20 lances in it. It's not the codex, it's the list builder.

And writing it off as uncompetitive before a single major tournament has been played with the new rules is a tad premature, don't you think?

No, to be honest, I don't think so. It's pretty easy to see how this book will do in the competitive circuit. Please send me your list, though. I'll show you how unbelievably dreadful the standard of play is for this book, even when your build is 'tooled' (using this term very, very subjectively, of course). Any half-decent player can see the potential of a codex without requiring a 'major tournament'. Reading works just fine. Please, though, in all seriousness, let's see the list.

You can see it in this forum: http://www.heresy-online.net/forums/showthread.php?t=75321

The second list in the thread. 85% or higher chance of going first with 20 Lance shots and a big unit of Hellions for Anti-Horde work. I'm not claiming it's going to dominate 'Ard Boyz or anything, or couldn't use tweaks, but it'd certainly do well against a lot of the lists out there.

How troll.

Anyhow, my 2000 pt list will take out 5 vehicles a turn, minimum. i.e. 33 lances.
Wow. Tanks scare me.

1) Competitive isn't always what people want. They may want to have fun with an army. Is it easy to win with DE? Not like some other "easy" armies. Can it be done in any situation? With tactics and work, yes.

2) We're not sure about tactics, strategy, and the like for everything. People aren't even using all the models yet.

3) Don't say nasty things that aren't constructive. I think there will be situations where DE will lose in an hour to mech gaurd. I think there are situations the opposite is true. 15 lances a turn (easy to do) will in general take out mech guard pretty well. Remember, if they aren't shooting, tanks are pretty useless, and that's mostly what glances do.

A character that'd be good in an army that could actually get him to assault.

Heamonculi with agonisers and web way portals, liquifer 115pts
Heamonculi with agonisers and liquifer, WWP 115pts
If a haemy is in combat, it's dead. Dump the Agonisers. And why does everyone love WWPs? They sucked in the last codex and they aren't any better now.

Heamonculi, Crusible, flesh gauntlet, liquifer 100pts
Dump it. Put the Crucible on someone else.

1 units of 9 wracks, one with liquifer, sgt with agoniser, raider with flicker shield and trophy rack 205pts
1 units of 9 wracks, one with liquifer, sgt with agoniser, raider with flicker shield and trophy rack 205pts
You'll kill MEQs. Anything good at HtH will wipe them. Anything shot their way will turn their Raider into a puff of smoke. Anything further will kill them.

10 Wyches, Heterix with agonisr, haywire grenades 150pts
10 wychs 100pts
Slogging? Dead.

4 Incubi, Raider, Trophy rack and flicker shield 163pts
You don't have armor saturation to have this, esp with Drazar. The Raider's dead turn 1. And then they're slogging. Put sails on all assualt Raiders.

1 units of 3 reavers 1 with blasters, callops 101pts
1 units of 3 reavers 1 with blasters, callops 101pts
Caltrops are crap. These are too small to be useful.

Void bomber 145pts
Get Ravagers, for the love of god.

I'll have to check your lists to see just how powerful they are then.

Just curious, are you assuming the Psyker battle squad is immune to the Crucible cause it's in a metal shell?
I would assume that Ragnar can read the rules about measuring range to an embarked unit if he's using a list like that. XD

I like your list a lot, and I don't know if I have much of a shot at it.
You can see it here though.

The second list is better against Ig, I think.

Sorry don't mean to hijack thread.

I figure the PSB would lose 3, but that's neither here nor there. I think Ragnar's list would be very difficult to deal with, but possible. The DE would have to succeed fairly well with several units to make it. It would be fun to play.

Iron Chaos Brute - you don't seem to have a handle on the difference between:

"Helpfully offering constructive feedback on how to improve someone's list in the style they are wanting to play"

and

"Trashing someone's list with single sentence pronouncements on how shit their choices are while substituting effectively your own list in place of theirs, regardless of how similar they might be"

Which might possibly explain why you have 46 posts and a minus number where your rep should be. Try being civil once in a while? It really doesn't cost anything.
