Not sure if this topic belongs here, but what the hell...

I'm currently a 'Nid player, but with my army nearing completion, I'm thinking about a second. I want it to be want the 'Nids aren't, ie small, elite and shooty, and since I have always liked Dark Angels, and with the new models out recently, I thought perhap I might venture down the path of the unforgiven. If you have any thoughts on this, or think I might be betterwith another faction, please tell my.

seeing that the dark angels have just been re-released they will be very common atm but thats no reason for you not to do them, GO FOR IT!! the unforgiven await.

I'm not bandwagoning (really!). I actually considered collecting Dark Angels before, but that was around the time of the Templars re-release, so I decided to wait for the DA to get a re-release of thier own...

he's telling the truth but personnally i'd collect something different marines just don't appeal to me well with exception to the blood angels

I was playing, i was actually in the same boat awhile ago.

I was thiking of starting Eldar when out popped all the crap, and decided i didnt want to step in it like everyone else.

So i went SM. :|

You know what, screw what others say about staying away from Marines. Like you said, you are a Nid player already so it isn't like you are one of the many Marine only players out there. If you were interested in DA enough to wait for a new 'dex then I say go for it. The desire/interest in the army is obviously there. That is basically why I went with Tau for my second army. I started out with Chaos marines and wanted to branch off from that and I absolutely LOVE the Tau models so I figured 'what the hell'. Best choice I could have made and ended up loving the army so much that Tau were all I played for a full year and a half before I realized it

Go with your gut and so long as the armylist is not broken *coughthousandsonscough* you will enjoy it all that much more.

plus everybody collects space marines of some kind in our school so whats the point in getting another marine army

Funny when we say "Oh, don't collect Marines there's millions of them" we all have Marine armies stashed somewhere- I'm guilty too.

I say go for DA- they will not be that popular as they are not as powerful or variable as SM's.

In our area they will most likely go the way of the Black Templar, not even a few weeks of bandwagonner fun. With just the die-hards who played them before (in the DA case) sticking with them.
