Threw this 2k list together after getting crushed last week in a 2500 point game.

HQ:
DP w/MoT, Wings, Sorcerer, Warptime -175
DP w/MoT, Wings, Sorcerer, Warptime -175

TROOPS:
7 Plague Marines w/2 Plasmaguns, incl. a Plague Champ w/PF - 221
10 CSMs w/2 Meltaguns, IoCG, incl. Aspiring Champ w/PW - 210
8 Zerkers incl. Skull Champ w/PF (Rhino w/EA) - 258
8 Zerkers incl. Skull Champ w/PF (Rhino w/EA) - 258

ELITE:
5 Chosen w/5 Meltaguns (Rhino) - 175

HEAVY:
Defiler w/extra CCW and Reaper Autocannon - 150
Defiler w/extra CCW and Reaper Autocannon - 150
3 Obliterators - 225

Hoping to use the Rhinos as a wall for the CSMs and PMs. When we get in range, I'll hopefully make the enemy charge the PMs (Or I'll charge him first) And then subsequently assault with the Zerkers. Haven't tried this tactic yet, but it seems like one of the best ways to make sure your Zerkers get all those yummy attacks. :grin: Any thoughts?

Wait...You gave them MoT but only one power? If you bring MoT on a DP you should at least get the two powers. Otherwise I would go with MoN because I really don't think 1+ to the Invulnerable Save on a DP is worth as much as having his Toughness go up, especially since he is a CC machine lol. Otherwise I like the list, seems pretty solid

Yeah, I've been reading up a bit on the benefits of MoN vs MoT. I want to be able to take Wind of Chaos, but I'm short on points. And I've been using MoN the past few games and the guy I play with throws all kinds of Heavy firepower at him where he almost always wounds on a 2+ even if my prince has T6. And I rarely ever see armor saves against what he throws at me. I felt like it might be more beneficial even though I don't have the points to take two powers, to still get that 4+ save since I'm using that most.

Good point, it does make sense if you are used to getting pummeled lol. In that case then yea go for it. You could always drop wings, but it would only give one of them the extra power, and I can't think of a good place to lose 20 more points, unless you dropped on PM, which probably isnt a good idea. May I ask what army you have been playing against? Or recently got destroyed by?

MoT is much better as things attacking a Prince like lascannons, meltas, plasmas, thunder hammers, power fists etc do not care about the +1 toughness from MoN. MoT makes the Prince survive against those weapons better.

As for the list you don't need a fist with plasma guns because you cannot charge after rapid fire any any unit which is going to charge Plague Marines will be a dedicated c.c unit anyway so the fist might not even get to strike.

CSM unit should have a power fist or drop the champion altogether.

Berzerkers belong in a 'Raider so they can assault straight out of it ;)

I've tried Defilers and they don't perform brilliant. I'd ditch them get another 2 obliterators and get another melta Chosen unit in a Rhino.

Been playing against a shooty Mechanized SM army. Was originally Dark Angels, but he's been working on converting it to Vanilla SMs. He usually runs LR with Termies/Captain, 2 Preds, 1 Vindicator, couple Land Speeders. One thing that gets me a lot are all his Assault Cannons. He gets quite a lot of rending hits actually.

Thanks for the tips, Mercer. I'll eventually get a Land Raider...but Right now I'm still working on getting rhinos. Should be getting my 4th today (hopefully). I'll switch that PF to the CSMs. I keep the defilers to hopefully take care of either a unit of Marines or get a tank on turn one. Then just let him fire everything he can at them to try and blow them up asap. I find they usually get the most attention, which is okay by me, b/c the princes are usually staying safe until the Defilers are gone.
