Hey, just checking who plays Necromunda here. I own an Orlock gang (practically straight from the box) and a PDFD force for the new(ish) Ash Wastes expansion. It is alot of fun driving around a desert, running people over and blowing cars up

I used to have a ridiculous amount of Necromunda stuff... sadly, it all was lost in a move with the rest of my stuff.

I've been thinking about getting back into it, lately, though.

It's a great game. It's tough to find groups for it. I'll probably play it a bunch in when I go home in December and reunite with my old gang from high school. With luck I'll have my Eschers and Cawdors painted up by then. I know what I want to do with the Cawdors, but I'm not sure yet with the Eschers.

I had difficulty finding players, until I noticed that some of the vets at my place played it on another night, so I started playing and have only stopped when I can no longer get down there...

its a great game though, and (me being cheap) have only spent £38 to make an effective Orlock gang (online Orlock box set, box of 20 catachans for spares and additions)

i used to, had an awesome converted cawdor gang, but lack of players is a problem.

GWs around the country dont support it, quite simply because it doesnt make us much money.

tis a shame. but start a campaign in your local, people will join.

yea, I was told a similar thing, and it is really good! I was also told the same about Inquisitor, which, while being extremly complicated IMO, is still a really good RPG

Necromunda has smaller skirmishes, but everything is more complicated. It is no longer simply "oh, shoot them, this happens, armour" due to the lack of armour, ammo roles, more realistic cover rules and range rules. If you prefer smaller, more realistic games, play Necromunda

To be fair, Necromunda is nowhere near as complicated as Inquisitor. It's a nice balance since I found Inquisitor was too obsessed with minutiae for my tastes.

sorry, may have muddled up my answer a bit:

Necromunda = more complicated than 40K

Inquisitor = More complicated than astrophysics

@Asmodai: I know what you mean about Necromunda being a balance between the pretty simple 40K and uber complicated Inquisitor, thats why I prefer to play Necromunda

another thing I hate about Inquisitor is the model sizing. Why not just use normal size rather than large ones? Just more stuff to buy and convert I guess....

Because the good 54mm models are absolutely amazing looking. It's a chance to do something different. You can scale it down and use WH and DH Inquisitors and retinues if you prefer, but I like the 54mm models from a painting perspective if nothing else.

I just see it as an unneeded necessity, but I still payed the £20 per model to play it, so I suppose it worked. Haven't got to play a decent game with them yet though :(

I miss 2nd edition also. My first intro to GW was Necromunda, which expanded into 40K. I still have all the stuff in a box in the garage, but no longer any players locally. Have a Delaque that I converted and gave them all cowboy hats, also a large Redemptionists gang (Fire is Good).

I own a Spyrer and a Van Saar Gang. Necromunda is such a good game it's a shame GW is letting die. I would like to make a pit slave gang in the future, but the models are too hard to find.

yea, GW should concentrate a little more on such extra games! The Orlocks have aklways been my favs as they have the most balanced list tbh.

The last Ash Wastes gme I plaed with my PDFD was verry good. Really close (doing a race, involved my officer killing 5 shanty dwellers including the elder and a heavy before being blown up as the out of control vehicle smashed into his other one XD)

Its what I'm planning to get at the moment. I usually play at my store (well, did for a while) and ended up creating a gaming board in my loft. Just need to finish off with a few really good buildings and its ready for gang fighting

i loved playing necromunda my brother and i used to play several games a week, i still have all but two of my models because i gave away my only spyre models because the GW stores couldnt get them(this was just before it became 'specialist' games)

from memory i had

VanSar 23 members two heavies one with auto cannon one with plasma cannon(1 in 1,000,000 type) and something like 15 specialists

goliaths 10 or 11 strong, excellent close combat orientation(took a whole cawdor gang out of action in one round of combat)

scavvys a core of 9 with something like 30 or 40 zombies(i used to have some people forfit when i just kept on putting models down on the table)

i have been trying to get my gaming group to start a campaign because i picked up a sealed goliath gang about a month ago and want to start from scratch(even playing field) (or i could bring my van sars out of retirement)
