here's another copy i've been working on. i chose this one beacause i really like the small amout of detail that is his face and i love the definition on his gloves and elbows.
as i have said in previous posts, i've been copying existing miniatures in order to learn a few basic techniques. i have, of course, had a go at designing and sculpting my own thing and i'm thinking of starting work on something for next years golden deamon. i'm thinking of a terminator in enquisitor scale might be quite cool.
anyway, let me know what you think.
any feedback is always welcome as long as it's constructive.

thanks for reading

very nice job. I'm particularly fond of the wrinkles/crease on the sides of the nose. What are the horns made from?
thanks for all the feedback and rep guys. i'll be sure to keep you posted on my future sculpting work.

the horns are made of white abs plastic. very fidly but a lot easier than sculpting them.

it's how GW do their swords and stuff

Elo dude, long time no see! Hows life treating you?

That dwarf is abosolutely amazingly excellent and i'm glad to see you are still doing GS work!

I recently started a small Snakebite Ork warband of which I will be posting some pics of the Boyz I have been sticking together and I will be converting some Fantasy Boars to have Shootaz n stuff on them after the Boyz and some Nobz are done so watch this space!
Hope to see you IRL at some point as well!

I so want to know. do you build it up layer after layer or take a lump of GS and go to town?

i work in stages around a wire armature. i usually start from the bottom up. as i'm sure you know, you only get 40 minutes until green stuff becomes pretty stiff so you have to work quick to get the detail in. green stuff squares off a lot easier when it's been going for about 30 minutes and it cuts beautifully with a razor blade for those really crisp edges. i've found the best blades are the flat ones you use in the old style screwhead razor. i don't know what you'd call them over there but the thinner they are the better. i tend to stay away from craft knife blades as i find them too thick.
sorry, rambled on a bit there

i'm self employed now and working my arse off towards an exhibition in glastonbury at the end of october, would be good to see you there if you can make it.
looking forward to seeing your orks as well. i tried selling mine a while ago but they didn't generate half the interest they deserve so i'm gonna keep 'em. still working on a warboss conversion. i'll post some pics in a bit
