i have taken up tau and with alot of chaos stuff im converting them into chaos tau and i have to admit my chaos hammerhead looks awesome this is there fluff

these tau of the dishounerd sept are darkened by chaos like no tau have before them due to massive over exposure to the warp. they lost there honour by attacking a space marine world just to spite them to prove they were more powerful only did they not win they were banished into the warp by the ultramarines who had just been passing by. years spent in the warp changed them beyond belief there strength grew there weapons were stronger but at a cost little known to the tau the chaos gods had been gifting them making them stronger faster and giving them huge longevity whispering into there minds twisting them these "gifts" were not out of kindness i doubt chaos gods understand a thing but they tools to let the tau do what the chaos gods fed of pure and utter destruction and chaos to spite the world and after they came out of the eye of terror after 1000s of years they were unrecognisable to there kin
they existed only for "the greater good of the chaos gods!

Ok, first off, I like this idea. I do like the idea of khorne tau charging madly into enemy lines. However, there are a few problems:

1) You said they were banished to the warp. You can't banish mortals to the warp. You only banish daemons to the warp, anyone else you send there (without a gellar field that are fitted on ships) gets ripped apart because there are no dimensions there, and a body of the materium can't sustain itself and thus is torn apart.

2) The Tau don't register in the warp. They have no presence there. In fact, they are largely unaware as to it's existence. They only know of it in a sense as a barrier that they fire their ships into, which repulses them and sets them moving at a greater speed, allowing them to travel the galaxy. That's why each Tau planet has to be largely independent, because contact is few and far between. So the question is, why would the Chaos gods seek to corrupt that which, because they don't register in the warp, they can't see.

3) The Tau often attack Ultramarine, and indeed, imperial worlds to advance "the Greater Good". I'm not really sure how this would dishonour them.

However, fear not, for I have ideas of how these problems can be rectified! My suggestions are:

1) A Tau planet gets sucked into a warp storm, and what comes out is still Tau, but not corrupted and mutated by Chaos.

2) A chaos lord/greater deamon (probably of Tzeentch, that would work best, as they are deceitful naturally.) shows up and convinces some Tau that they are the embodiment of the "Greater Good" so they follow them. Kind of like the Emperor did with the Mechanicum at the start of the Great Crusade.

3) Kind of like what happened with Commander Farsight (I don't know if that's who I mean, but it's the one with a Dawn blade!). A Tau etherial/commander finds and starts to use a daemon weapon and corrupts the whole force they lead.

But yeah, so I hope that is helpful mate! Good luck, I'll keep an eye on this as, like I said before, I like the idea of Chaos Tau

Well, this was pretty much all the info I could find on Tau space travel:

"The Tau, because they lack psykers as a race, are incapable of fully entering the warp. However, based on duplicating the warp drive from an unknown alien vessel they have found a way of 'diving' towards the warp, extending the field of their drive into a wing shape designed to hold their vessel in the warp, before being hurled into real space again like a ball held under water and then released. While this is much slower, by a factor of five when compared to Imperial jump speed, it is a lot safer because they do not enter the warp deep enough to become exposed to any of its dangers, and is also much more predictable as their speed works out to a consistent rate. Nevertheless, this limited form of warp travel has resulted in the Tau Empire being closely packed around their home system."

Just thought that might be helpful to you. But, as mentioned above, their form or travel comes from scavenged technology, so what if some Gue'vesa ships (that is, imperial ones with warp drives, and gellar fields) that were piloted by the tau tried to escape the loss at *named Ultramarine planet* and accidentally jumped into the warp, but obviously without a navigator, got stuck. Gellar fields fail, some warpy stuff seeps in, corrupts the Tau/eats some of them. At some point later, the ships are thrown back out and are chaos devotees. Not too keen on the whole increase warp presence, as it doesn't make sense. But I think all the gods, especially Khorne, "cares not from where the blood flows, simply that it does"! So I reckon any/all the Gods would be happy with more followers.

Not quite sure on why Chaos space marines would engage in a bonding ritual with xeno's. They might be renegades, deserters and heretics, but they still hate xeno's. It's about as likely as a Khorne bezerker sleeping with a pink fluffy bear with a love heart on it's chest. The Tau might follow a Chaos Astartes, or a group of them, but they wouldn't be their best friends.

the Tau are nive toword choas, they see it as just another weapon to use, so they might not be Psykic but some of the Humans who flee to the realm sure as hell are, and i can see a Etheral being interested by a Deamon summoning.

as to which god might favor them, unlikely Tzeentch due to the lack of psykic power, the Tua nauter is to duty driven for Slaanesh to get much hold, so that leaves Nurgle and Khone, the Tau long range weapons are not quite what Khone likes, but blood is blood and theres always the Kroot,,
Nurgle is may infect a few Tau, weather there be let into general socity is another, but Nurgle would love to see the Tau use biologicle weapons he gave them, just becuse the users may be uneffected (damn you NBC suits) bt the death they inflict would please him greatly.

why do they have to be sent to the warp? how about there colony just being engulfed in a Warp storm? hope this helps.

I think with some considerable effort it'd be possible for an Ethereal to be corrupted or possessed (probably by Tzeentch, he likes to meddle and I'm not sure the others would care too much about Tau) and once you have a corrupted Ethereal all the rest of the Tau in your force just follow along. So while the majority of your Tau are cluelessly serving the Ethereal, the Ethereal is taking orders from Tzeentch or being generally chaos-y. And it seems likely that once you open that door, so to speak, the rest of the corruption just takes hold.

As for Kroot, with their tendency to eat everything you could just say they ate some bad chaos cultists and got "infected" with the Chaos. :)

EDIT: I agree with what Dragonkingofthestars says about Khorne and Slaanesh not caring about Tau, corrupting them would either be a drawn out "labour of love" (so like a slow, creeping effort by Nurgle) or for more complicated and intricate matters (the sort of thing that Tzeentch likes). That's just my opinion, atleast.

ive decoded to say a massive warpstorm sucked them into the warp and they were lost in it so long there armour was corrupted and when the tau died the armour still lives to fight a kill for the chaos gods that gave it life

(im planning on always having helmets)
