So my friend has a Tyrannofex with 3 weapons, (Powerful Limbs, Rupture cannon, and stinger salvo) The unit has 4 attacks, so he was wondering if it can attack using the rupture cannon all 4 times leading to 12 shots being fired each shooting phase from this unit. Can he do this and if so, are there any weapons with use limits too them or can a model attack with the same weapon as many times as allowed by its attack stat?

Depends on the phase.

In the shooting phase he can fire all his shooting weapons at an enemy, using the weapon profile the model has.

In the combat phase, as long as it has either a) charged into combat, or b) been charged or is locked in combat can the Tyrannofex use its own Attacks characteristic. However it won't be able to use the rupture cannon in close combat during this phase. It would have to use the the weapon characteristics of the Powerful Limbs weapons for each attack in combat.

If in the next shooting phase it is still locked in combat it can fire the rupture cannon, but only at the closest model, and only then using the weapon profile for the Rupture cannon and Stinger salvo ( I can't remember the profile for the latter)

So TL;DR, no he cannot use the rupture cannon using his own attack charateristics (which dictates the number of attacks in the combat phase) as it is not a melee weapon, but can use it in the shooting phase.

Ok so he can only use the rupture cannon once per shooting phase correct?

I believe so, unless you have a stratagem which allows such a beast to fire twice in the shooting phase.

The weapon does have 2 shots from memory, so it will roll twice to hit regardless, but if it does get another round of shooting in the same turn then it could potentially fire more than once.
