It is the start of a new month, so welcome again to the Heresy Online:

March 2015

A valid entry is a picture before the conversion and a picture after the conversion plus an optional description of the conversion, posted in this thread. The full current rules and FAQ can be found in the Rules thread.
Work in progress photographs or descriptions are also encouraged.

Entries must be submitted by midnight GMT, 31 March 2015.

If there is anything that you think unclear or needs reviewing, however trivial, please post it in the Discussion thread.

Without further ado, Heretics, ready your parts, raise your tools, and start converting.http://www.heresy-online.net//uk.pinterest.com/pin/create/extension/

Alright, so basically I began this model in mid-Feb and totally forgot this competition existed until recently so I have no before photos. However, I'll show you folks the model and then walk you through where all the bits came from and you can tell me if it counts as a valid entry or not. Also, I know I don't get any extra points for it being painted or anything, I just find it easier to paint the model piecemeal and then glue it all together so I can get to all the details etc.

So my entrant is my take on Lord Commander Eidolon. Well, sort of. In game terms he will use Eidolon's rules, but in terms of fluff he's not Eidolon. In fact he is the leader of my homebrew Millenial (basically a chapter) of the Emperor's Children Legion, Captain Tiberius Loculus of the 17th Millenial.

So, that's the finished article, now for the bits!

Starting up, I used the torso and legs (they're one bit) from the Imperial Fists command squad:

To get the aquila on his chest I cut the torso in half and then stuck half of the Emperor's Children torso (shown below) and green stuff'd up around the aquila so the cape didn't abruptly end.

For the head, I used one of the Emperor's Children heads (shown above) and mounted one of the command crests from the MKIV command set (shown below) going from front to back.

For the left arm (that's left from the viewer, not his left) I took the left arm of this bloke:

I then cut out the helmet, smoothed the cape back down and added the thunerhammer from the Inquisitor Coteaz model (shown below).

For the right arm, I just took a random arm I had lying about, chopped it above the elbow and added Coteaz's outstretched arm with the eagle on it. The shoulder-pad it nicked from a Palatine Prefector (shown below)

Finally, the jump-pack is from the Sanguinary Guard kit (shown below), although I had to green stuff the wings to the jump-pack because on the sanquinary guard they stick right on the models torso rather than the jump-pack.

So, that's all the bits that went into making him and, conveniently, a rough "how it happened" walk-though. Hopefully that counts as enough info for this to be a valid entry, but if not then don't worry :eek:k:

The competition is only open to work done in March, so - unless you can divide the work between February and March - it isn't a valid entry.

So, the eagle arm was merged with the generic arm in Feb, I cut the Emperor's Children torso in half in Feb, and the custom helmet with the crest was done in Feb. Everything else was at various points in this month. Is that ok? If not I totally understand I just figured if I could then I'd try and enter.

Given it a bit of thought. As I had to think about what was when a couple of times, I'm going to rule it's too complex to divide the work, so it isn't valid without a photo.

I've also never entered a conversion deathmatch and I admit that this is not my idea. I saw it online HERE, and thought I'd give it a go. This is my first attempt at any sort of kitbash/ conversion and contains no greenstuff, just lots of glue and messing about.
Basically it's the old 4 Mek Guns for the price of one (plus a Trukk).
Unfortunately, I haven't painted them yet, I've been busy with my Battlewagon, and finishing up some Boyz, so I'm not sure they count in this competition, but hey ho.
They were pretty straightforward conversions. Basically, hack the chassis into 3 pieces, Invert the axles (otherwise the wheels sit too high) use armour and gubbins from trukk, plus handful of spares from my bitz box including an arm from a Deff Dredd amongst other parts, use boarding planks at the rear to balance the whole lot out, and bobs your grots uncle.
However, it's not quite as easy as it's made out online, as you need extra gubbins to be able to make these up. Trukk parts are important, but if that's all you have, you'll be disappointed. I ended up using all sorts of bits from my spares box, including stuff from my Battlewagon box that I didn't need.
Anyway, it does mean that I have 4 mek guns for the price of a Mek gun and trukk kit (plus change), so I'm happy. Have some pictures for your delectation....

Hope I'm not too late, was just told about this competition over in the Project Logs page. Here is what I did:

Was going through some of my uncle's old Warhammer stuff I had in storage and came across a High Marshal Helbrecht metal figure I wanted to do something with. I've always wanted to make a small 500-100 pt army of Deathwatch, possibly to use as an attachment or in addition to the Adeptus Mechanicus, so I figured I would start a project log, starting with my conversion of the High Marshal into an Inquisitor.

I just started on this figure last night and used a Dremel tool to get rid of the head and Black Templar iconography, then I attached a head from the Dark Angels Deathwing Knights, and sculpted some fur over where the backpack would have gone and where the iron cross was on the left side of his chest.

After letting the greenstuff dry over night, I started working on making an Inquisitor icon for his back out of plasticard:

I had originally planned on making him a staff, but changed my mind and just made him a hammer. I took one from the Deathwing Knights, filled in the spots where Dark Angel iconography were present, and hacked up two other power weapons to make a longer shaft/handle:

Putting my Game of Thrones season 4 box set to good use while I wait for the glue to dry :p Icon mounted and hammer finished:

Annnnd finished for tonight - more to follow as I build up the base and add a few finishing touches, then its time to paint!

Let me know what ya think!
