Recently I have been using a standard Zoanthorpe as Doom of Malan'tai on proxy, I am planning to take my Hive Fleet to a tournament in a few months and would like to take Doom along, however the tournament has a very strict WYSIWYG rule so I will not be able to proxy an ordinary Zoanthorpe as Doom. I will be buying a new Zoanthorpe model and converting. I am looking to do a basic conversion to make the model look more like Doom, I don't really want to go hacking bits off of models. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

I made one :). Looks pretty good, but not as good as my PoM, Tervigon, Mycetic Spore, Tyrannofex, blablablablabla...

Basically, I used a normal zoan, put him on an Eldar structure, and added Apoxie to his head to make vents.

I've seen great ones on the internet though. A really good one is where he used Scything Talons as arms.

Most people use a warrior body and the head scales of a mawloc.

Or just buy one of those "old school" Zoanthropes that acually had legs and looked like mutated Warriors... I managed to buy one off eBay for less than the price of a new metal one...

I would think that is much too small. That image in the book does not look that tiny. Also the FAQ says it is just as a Zoan, so I take that as it has to be at least that big.

I agree. I think the best option is to use a Zoan and convert that up. Watch this space

I used the old edition zoanthrope, added the Mawloc carapace, and a few of the vanes from the mawloc to the back, quick and easy and looks different from the normal zoans
