I just finished my Librarian conversion for my SM army and it dawned on me that for one character it ended up being very expensive.


Lysander Blister: $30.00
Librarian Blister: $18.00
Green Stuff
(1/4 pkg.) : $6.00
Tomb kings box $22.00 (1/2 of a $45.00 box I bought for my 2 HQ's)

Total: $76.00!!

that's why i don't bother with conversions unless I have a leftover piece from a sprue.

Let me see if I have some leftover stuff I can sell you for $50.
this hobby costs way to much as is off the shelf. I will buy 2 sqds of marines in place of blowing it all on 1 model.

On a suit I just converted, I used 2 Suits worth of parts just on him, plus spare bits for testing...Probably 65 all told there...The plasticard would take it up another 10, greenstuff 6...So looking at 81 bucks, and not even finished yet.

i spent 18 pounds on goblin riders for fenris wolves then used there bits for adding on things to my wovles never really converted

does it have to be a conversion, because if it is it would be my slaanesh sorcerer. $25 boxed set of possessed, $35 boxed set of chaos marines and a $22 boxed set of dark angel veterans. Yes i did use the extra bitz for buliding more models but i don't really use them. All in all it was $88 for the one model i actually wanted.

So far my most expensive thing is a tank conversion that I am working on.

Imperial baneblade = $95
2 Landraiders= $55 each = $110
1 Vindicator= $40
Miscellanious bits =$45

$290 so far on one tank that is not Forgeworld

well im not sure i could beat 290 for a tank my chaos baneblade after bitz orders and buying the tank and all the other goodies i used for it I topped it out at about 200.00 bucks.
