After a brief sojurn with Farsight, the realisation that several other people were taking him to the final took the shine off the novelty of the special character so i've switched to a hybrid tau list.

At the moment its 28pts under which gives rise to some more options. I could either take more FWs, or drop a couple and take four gun drones to annoy people. Thoughts?

Hows about another set of SMS on the Skyray?
Not sure on how you'd generally play the List Chris but having 6 SMS systems could be filthy for the full on defensive strategy?
Otherwise I'd go with drones great for picking on hidden/Indirect tanks with DS and the FOF should still work ok with combined SMS and 8 FW's.
Not too sure on the Stealths I'd go with 4 due to morale Issues lose one to a cheaky snipe and they could be goners.

My take would be +2 firewarriors to one squad. Disruption pod for the Hammerhead and a Hard-wired blacksun filter for the broadside team leader. Comes to 28pts exactly.

I am leaning towards more FWs to be honest. Would a 12-10 or 11-11 split between the teams be better?

Matt, what i've found was that there got to a point where there is too much SMS. The burst cannons are cheaper and put out more shots (nearly all of the time there are other targets) and people seriously underestimate the sky ray for what it is. They'd rather take out the more obvious offensive units than the one which makes them all better.

Thats a good solid list. If you have points spare you could look at some black sun fliters for the broasides and the hammerhead (give someone a suprise in a night fight) or find the points and go for a small gun drone unit so you go hunting those pesky iron warriors basalisks:

I think that gives me 4pts left. I might change one of the Shas'el to a missile pod and fusion gun with the stimulant injector and use him in a deep striking tank hunter role.

Your drones only cost 48pts though, I think you've worked that Into the total anyhow. :wink:
