Hi! Personally i simply love soul grinders they are an optimal choice.
Slaughter cult is a good main formation but i don't like the 2 squad of 10 csm on foot with autocannon. If you want long range support, melta is useless and if you get close for melta autocannon shoot overwatch. Buy at least a rhino for them.

The prince is very vanilla without artefacts.. but your choice!

I don't like "brazen assault" because bloodcrushers are overpriced and too fragile! A missile launcher, laser and every weapon at str 8+ will kill 1 of them with 1 wound if you fail inv. Gorepack is an awesome formation to take instead but if you want to play termies and bloodc drop to 3 the 2 squads and use point for somethings else.

I love the Bloodthirster!

My friend asked for certain things, so I tried putting them together.

1. He wanted 'shooty marines and assaulty demons'.

2. He wanted a Demon Prince, and a 'thirster. I kept the Prince cheap because damnit, that's a lot of points.

3. He wanted terminators.

4. He didn't want tanks, but wanted demons to suit the role. I could probably convince him for rhinos.

So, questions....

Can a bloodclaw pod work? I've noticed with other new codices there's very little room for FW in it... is it an allowed transport? Not sure my friend wants to dive into FW quite yet, but....

My original idea for him was the Charnel instead of the Slaughter pack, with just the one squad of Crushers, and the Letters from there, and some cannons, because I like the cannons, but he wanted Terminators.

In my country there's a lot of tournament where fw is allowed without problems. But for some people gw and fw are 2 different worlds...
Dreadclaw is very nice, if you want to put csm inside, consider another weapon instead autocannon.. maybe two meltas.
And instrument of chaos on 'letters helps soul grinders and other daemons to enter in play for sure :D
With this list you can score a lot of points in maelstrom.

The dreadclaw or whatever was going to be for the Terminators. I thought you mentioned it, but now that I'm re-reading you weren't talking about pods, you were talking about lowering the crusher numbers.

I need to talk to my friend. I might try to convince him to switch to a Terminator CSM lord over the Prince, and put him in that group.

Nice! I have just 2 questions
Why powersword on lord?
And hellcult's brutes don't generate any blood points with their kills.. maybe take two soul grinders instead?

The Powersword exists only to generate another attack for the lord, since Goredrinker is NOT a specialist weapon. Since he automatically gets a power weapon, and can exchange one weapon for a relic, the combi bolter goes away and he gets GD instead.

As for the Soulgrinders, that was the very first draft. However, my friend's very new to the game, and he wants to stick to models he can acquire easily, which included the Chaos half of Dark Vengeance. Which is why some Cultists entered, as well as the Helbrute. I love the Mayhem Pack, and I figured it would give the army a little more flexibility (but yeah, not blood points there).

Mayhem is awesome man! I simply forgot lord was in termy and not in power armour :p
Please send a br of this list! I'm curious about that ;)

I'd probably go HB+plasma on the CSM squads, rather than leave them underfanged.

In the Termis I'd go a chainfist rather than a fist and grab some combi-weapons--plasma or melta, ideally. Would personally also take a second chainfist over the maul, too...

To get points for those various upgrades I'd drop the Bloodletter Instruments, the Lord's SoC (since it's a full-price upgrade to turn your Termi armor's 5+ invuln to a 4+, which isn't worth it, I say) aaaand maybe some Helbrute upgrades.

I forget how the mayhem pack functions (data slate not handy) if they behave like a unit you can probably have a KDK character join the unit.

According to the Bloodtithe rules units that include at least 1 model with the "blood for the blood god" rule earn Bloodtithe points for destroying enemy units.

Mayhem Pack are 3 DSing Helbrutes that are still solo, so no unit for a character to join.

Yeah, that. I had been thinking about dropping them into the opponent just to cause all sorts of mayhem. Get it! Ha. Ha.

There's now a second list for my friend also, because he wanted a much heavier Demon Presence.

...Are you sure that's 2k points? I'm not troubling to add it up myself, but it looks awfully small. Like, 800 points or so small. Plus, well, a Gorepack needs a pack or two of Hounds, at the very least.

I do <3 me some Grinders. Even if mine has been consistently immobilized or popped T1 the last 6 or so games I've played with them--in so many other games they've proven MVPs, basically Knight-Lite.

And eh, happens to the best of us. Hounds and Grinders are always a solid addition to a list.
