I am interested in making my own kannons instead of buying them and have done some research as what to use to make them. Most of them I found were not for me. What would be the most accurate thing to represent the kannon barrel? Keep in mind that I am basing my design off of the GW version (that looks the best). Any and all suggestions are welcomed!

Here's a quick rundown on Kannons.

1) 2x wheels. Often able to be gotten in Civil War plastic army men, along with Kannon Barrels and such

2) Barrel and gubbins: Plastruct hard tubing, needs a saw to cut. (http://www.plastruct.com/Pages/OnlineProductDetail.lasso?-op='eq'&CCode=TB-3L) Also Kannons right from the army men. Use heavy construction paper coated in superglue to add rings and gubbins.

3) Plasticard for Blast Shielding. I find two layers finished on the edges with green stuff to be effective.

4) Grots. Also, shells and stuff for the base from wherever :)

there the size of the trukk axle,

i didn't cut them, i know there bigger than the $25 GW ones

but all the new kits are bigger, maybe someday GW will make some new models for them

basically i cut a segment from the trukk frame, attached the axle and wheels, glued a boarding plank to the bottom, armour to the front, and the new Kannon(battlewagon box) to the top, then painted some grotz

I just bought some extra trukk wheels for this very purpose. I'm going to use them, some BW bits, and some plasticard to attempt to construct 2 kannons and a lobba, so it's nice to see these!
