For the past couple of weeks I've been playing with the idea of a guard army. What I want from the army is the ability to play it as either a standard guard army or a siege regement or a drop troop army. So, how to go about this. Well the first idea that always comes to m head is a steampunk army with a combination of empire and guard stuff. The other idea I had was to use cadian shock troopers and make them as a cross to CMDante at dakka with his blood pact and the helghast soldiers from killzone, I also want to convert the sentinels to look like an imperial version of the crisis suit but holding their guns instead. What do you think? The only stipulation is that I can only use GW stuff and plasti card and green stuff.

Not making it easy for yourself, then.
I'm REALLY happy I don't HAVE to play in a GW store.

I've seen some cool "battlesuit" sentinels made using OOP Starship Troopers Marauder suits (carrying their weapons like oversized rifles).

For the "helghast" look, the new Wargames Factory SF greatcoat infantry have some good head options.

With the exclusively GW options, I'd just give up.
Not cost-effective enough to do at GW prices.
