4 Plague Marines assault my 17 Kroot in cover. Hounds go first, kill nothing. Carnivores go with the Marines, still kill nothing. the four PM kill 5 Kroot. They make their Ld7 - 5, because 5 models died, and fail. They run 2D6 off the board edge, and the Plague Marines get my objective.

Did I do things right? Because I would imagine 34 attacks, even at S4, would kill at least one Marine, and they'd stay in combat, but after re-reading the rule book everything seems to check out. Did I do something wrong?

34 attacks at 4+ = 17 hits

17 wounds on 5+ = 6 hits... ish

6 saves of 3+ = 2 fail

2 x feel no pain = 1 lives 1 dies

so on an "average" round of combat, you can hope to kill 1 marine yes. you just had a less than average round of combat and sadly ran off.

that 3+ save and then FNP makes them a super bitch to take out

unless you have power weapons negating both save and FNP then there is no point in doing it cause you'll be sorry every time.

don't assault plague marines is all i can say.

They assaulted me while I was in cover, but those darn Frag Grenades...! If I did assault them, I wouldn't get my bonus attacks either so i just shot (which also did nothing), but whatever, it's just a friendly home battle.

It's the easyer to clean the plague marines, even easyer than Easy Off.

plague marines are a pain to kill with kroot il just plan keep them out the way an have the tau shoot there ass off.
