Is there anyway i can build an army lead by a Fallen Dark Angel now?

What with the Lost and the Damned being out of date and the chaos book not allowing cultists. The idea of a lone Dark Angel leading an army of cultists he's "persuaded" to fight for him is really appealing fluff wise.

I'm only just getting back into the game and i want an army thats good to look at while fun to play, i'm trying to stay away from normal space marines since its who i used before i stopped.

So atm i'm down to Word Bearers, Thousand Sons, an army thats related to the fallen or soul drinkers.

Maybe as allies. Say a Chaos Lord leading a CSM force, and allies as IG (traitors).

Do you know if they are planning on putting cultists back in cause i know they are planning on the demons codex but i've heard nothing of the lost and damned.

The Lost and the Damned rules are fully compatable with the new Chaos codex, and in the case of the 'Ard Boyz tournament rules, they actually bother explicitly telling you that the rules are compatable.

Yeah unfortunately the LatD list makes reference to units that no longer exist in the CSM codex. Which unfortunately answers the question you asked in the first place Words. Bums me out too as I bought a ton of Guard stuff in order to do a LatD list as well. Oh well.

Do it as Inquisitors.
A single Grey Knight Lord would make an alright representation of a fallen dark angel who learned magic through chaos (though it wouldn't explain why your enemies suddenly get meatgrinder for their daemons)

Or if you don't mind him not having full SM stats, an Inquisitor Lord would work as well. Use guard as troops and the like, throw in some daemon hosts and the like. The inquisitor retinue is a perfect place to experiment with customized models, all culty and daemonish. You could argue that the corruption of chaos weakened his body

FW just came out with some cool new corrupted pyschers for their LatD line too, would make perfect henchmen in a fallen Inquisitorial retinue.
