ive never played warmachine, or hoards and am trying to get a feel for the system before i dive in.
Whats the difference in warmachine and hoards? i think i prefer hoard models in general.
How about the system is it similar to confrontation? i remember that having Cards

There isn't to great a difference in terms of the mechanics of the games, as they're designed to be compatible.

The man difference is that where Warmachine is about great big robots beating seven shades out of each other, Hordes is about great big beasties ripping seven shades out of each other.

Beyond that Hordes also appears a little dated when compared to Warmachine, with the older points system still in place, so if your playing a Warmachine vs Hordes game, you and your opponent will need to engage in a little maths.

Apart from this the cards are for quick reference purposes.

From what I've seen, MkII has brought Hordes in line with Warmachine on the point cost side of things.

Some nice models too mate. As far as I know its a weird system that doesn't use dice... is that right? Or is it another one? We have about 25 different system rulebooks at Wayland :laugh:

Yup you're right.

Malifaux uses cards instead.

As already said, Warmachine uses cards too but more for quick referrence purposes and aren't as majorly important as the cards in Malifaux.
