So playing a game and I chose to drop my warp spiders behind his riptide and try and kill it early in the game. So he said he was going to intercept but I argued the fact that since Im behind him he couldn't "see them" from the model. Once he found out i was dropping Swooping hawks he changed his target anyways so it didn't effect the game at all. Sorry probably again a silly question

What a model can "see" isn't limited to what its head is pointing at--non-tank models can pick targets anywhere in 360 degrees where they have line of sight from themselves to their target. Tank sponsons and the like have limited firing arcs, but they're the only ones. So yes, a Riptide could shoot at a unit dropping in "behind" it. Sorry.
