This is from the new series, "Planet Earth" on Discovery in the US. It was filmed over 5 years and has some of the coolest video I have ever seen.

Well, this weeks episode of "shallow waters" topped everything. The following link is THE coolest footage I have ever seen of shark hunting. It's about 3 minutes long, but worth it especially the very last attack and how much air this 1 ton shark gets off the water...

Pretty incredible stuff there, really.

I've always been more fascinated by the deep sea, and plugging in "deep sea" into the youtube search led to the Planet Earth episode on it. It's really incomprehensible what lives down there. All things considered, I'm scared shitless.

sharks have always been a fascination of mine. i watch shark week on the discovery channel every year religiously. when great whites are attacking seals like these they can soar to 20 feet or so off the water.

sea life is probably the coolest thing on this planet. too bad i get sea sick sitting in a chair let alone on a boat. so i could never go diving and meet these creatures in person.

i think this pics below say it all: (wish i was the guy on the surf board)

Its not a board its a canoe.

Now thats smart, real incentive not to catch Crabs, (Naval term for not making oar strokes deep enough and spashing about, Not parasites.) and improve your paddling tecnique. :p Note guy has stopped paddling!

there was supposed to be another picture of a surfer near a wave with a great white in the wave no more than like 3 feet from him. guess it didn't show.

Guys, there's a severe problem with your paranoia. There's only one specific place in the world where sharks jump, and that's the result of a geological phenomenon. Besides, as long as you don't do stupid things, like interrupt a feeding frenzy, or bleed, or do seal impersonations, or hit it, they're happy enough to leave you alone. Even if you're stupid, the number of shark-related deaths, let alone those caused directly by a shark attack, are laughably small. More people die from champange-cork-induced trauma.
