Why is Cadia so important? Couldn't the Chaos Gods simply put Abaddon and the entire 13 Black Crusade right in front of Terra using Warp travel?

Why is Cadia so important?
This quote from Codex: Imperial Guard sums it up:

"...the Cadian Gate, the only stable passage between the Chaos infested Daemon Worlds of the Eye of Terror and the Imperium. No battlefleet of any size can rely upon other passages, but must pass through the Cadian Gate. Cadia is therefore one of the most strategically important planets in the galaxy."

It is also the location of the Cadian Pylons which are apparently preventing the Eye of Terror from expanding.

Couldn't the Chaos Gods simply put Abaddon and the entire 13 Black Crusade right in front of Terra using Warp travel?
I'm not quite sure they have the ability to do so, it certainly doesn't seem to be how wrap travel works.

Wouldn't you say the thought just has never occurred to them given their focus on their Great Game?

Because surely they could/would silence the troubled areas of the Warp for their followers to use but they don't care.

Maybe since the Emperor has been "defeated" the gods really couldn't care less about humanity. Nothing really poses a threat to them now so there is really no point in putting more time and energy into their defeat, aside from picking on them for the fun of it. They probably enjoy watching Abaddon struggle with the Imperium.

Even they have limitations. If this was possible then they could have transported Horus onto Terra right after the Dropsite Massacre and saved a few years of effort.

The galaxy is vast and requires reasonable difficulty to travel it. The Chaos gods are masters of the warp, not the warp & real space.

The basic reason is quite simple; this merciful galaxy has offered two way outs for Chaos. First way is through Cadian gate, and Second way is via summoned Warp Storm. However road of Empyrean is fundamentally turbulent and treacherous thing all the time, and there always is a high chance get lost during precarious Warp travel; Chaos are no exception. Forces of Chaos have some Navigators. But they doesn't have anything like Astronomicon. Above all things, from the position of EOT, Cadia is only reliable exit to Materium. Namely, Chaos can move their army en masse only through sheer fortune and flake.

In short, Chaos could not deploy enough force to breach multiple-layered defence lines of Sol System and commence third and (maybe) final Siege of Terra. Thus Chaos must seize control of Cadian Gate if they hope to achieve their ultimate goal and sack Throneworld of Humanity.

Or their every moment is dedicated to the Great Game and the Horus Heresy was a blip that diverted their attention but for a moment.

Can i also thorw in that, while it is the center of travel for the Region, it is also the most Productive planet in the region. It manufactures a shit ton of military equiptment, designs advance gear for Cadian Shock Troops, and houses some scary weapons of the Inquisition and the Ordo Malleus

Such is the rate and scale of production on Cadia that it is the largest exporter of arms and munitions in the region. - Lexicanum

The forces of Chaos would have unbridled to nearly every world of the Imperium. The worlds of man would be a fruit basket for which the forces of chaos would feast upon. It would be very bad for man.

Seems unlikely. Chaos had plenty of opportunities before the Imperium controlled Cadia to launch attacks, yet did not. The Imperium didn't even know about Cadia until centuries after Lorgar purged it.

Besides, if I understand how the Warp works, it does not conform to our way of understanding and therefore I've always asked myself why the Traitor Legions didn't just jump to the Maelstrom and attack from there? To my understanding, and I'm not well read on the Maelstrom, but there is no Cadia-styled 'gate' or defense and therefore they could bring their full might to bear on the Chapter's guarding it. They would break free long before word ever reached Terra.

That's mainly because of the Inter-Legionary Wars and there was no central unifying force (Abaddon) that could effectively utilise the power of the Traitor Legions against the Imperium.
