so, basically, after reading the deomn and witch hunter's codex and the bit about using space marines or imps in a primerily hunters force i got to wondering (dangerous i know )

first: can you use some space marines in a ig force?

secondly: where can the rules for this be found? or do you use the rules from either of the hunter's codex?

Outside apocalypse you cannot take Space Marines in an Imperial Guard army. There would be balance issues and all kinds of craziness, so theres no rules published on the matter. Although saying that if your after a friendly game you could agree with your opponent to do so. But I wouldn't recommend it.

ow, i was looking forward to gathering a 3000pt list with about 1k worth of marines

I know I used to replace space marine heads with IG ones and use them as 'Allied Witch Hunter SOBs'

Counted as SoBs..... But I called them Elite house troopers.... bout as close as you could get.

My suspicion is that the guardsmen would make the marines look bad, and we can't have that, can we? :wink:

tho some assault marines running alog side a couple of hell hounds or a tactical squad defending a manticore XD
