With my new army this is my first list Im thinking of running.

HQ:
Pask In leman russ battle tank with HB-190
Punisher, Lascanon hull mounted- 150
Vanquisher, lascanon hull mounted- 145

Troops:
10 Vets, Melta, Plasma gun, with Commissar-175
10 Vets, Melta, Plasma gun, with Commissar-175

Heavy:
LRBT with Lascanon- 160
LBRT stock - 150
Vanquisher tank- 135

manticore- 170

Allies:

Knight errant- 375


I feel this list is very strong but i havent even used this army yet. Plan is to have the troops get what objective they can and to use the melta or plasma gun threw the shooting points. Feel like its cant be stopped

Well, the list has a good idea, but some things are messed up, no offense

First of all, i've found that the only good mix between leman russ is Demolisher+eradicator or Punisher+exterminator... then, the manticore is really a fun model to field, but not so strong, sadly..not now that you can field so many high strenght stuff...also, the mix of special weapons in veteran squads ir rarely a good compromise, imo

I'd go with:

HQ
Pask in Punisher + HB Sponsons
Punisher + HB Sponsons

Troops:
10 Vets, 2 Melta, with Commissar, in Taurox
10 Vets, 2 Melta,, with Commissar, in Taurox

Heavy:

Demolisher tank +H. flamer hull
Eradicator tank + lascannon hull

1 Manticore

Allies:
Knight Errant

This way Taurox and meltavets can support the advancing demolisher/eradicator squadron, to kill vehicles and hordes alike

Punishers work with the knight against any threat (lots of dakka + a melta blast & D attacks is nothing to sneeze at) while Manticore is there as an unpredictable punch in the groin. It may as well be wasted points, but if it decides to work properly...BOOOM!

Basically your list, with some different organization, points around 1450 ish...

Interesting! And no offence taken lol, new to guard and learning! Does anyone use mortars? I'm in the are forces in an artillery unit and I love the idea of an artillery force but I haven't seen an artillery list at all

One or two of my guard lists are artillery companies; they can be quite fun though its a bit more of a challenge to find some ranged anti armour.

Well, i think the new Wyvern tank just killed the old mortar spam.

If you are more worryed by hores than big tanks, you could swap the Manticore with 2 + 1 Wyverns. Basically each is equal to 4 armoured TL mortars that ignore cover and reroll to wound...so, yeah...thats our new imperial mortar i guess :biggrin:
