My gw doesn't allow proxies or seats
Seats I imagine is to save space, and I have no problem with it
Proxies is to force sales... If you want to try something out, you gotta buy it
But IMO this spoils the meta and gets nowhere...because people,just DONT buy the model, why should I spent ~£20 on something I don't even know I'll like?
When I can put £20 on steam, +patience for sales and end up with 2-3 games I'm pretty sure I'll like and play?
This all means people end up with the same lists every week because they can't afford/don't want to spend the large monetary investment in creating change...

My pervious local store had to allow seats back a few years ago because of the aging population of the gamers :p oh and the guy who was in a wheel chair :). When they moved from their old location to new they got the guys who installed it to make 2 tables that could be height adjustable so he could play. This also helped for the younger kids who were playing as well, as previously they had to stand on footstalls and stuff. Also meant that because of the smooth mechanism that raised and lowered the table you could adjust the table down for nice photos on your cam-phones that you didn't have to hold your arm high in the air to get a good shot of the whole field.

This is a store manager thing though - GW doesn't have any policy on these two matters, as I've discussed it in detail with our Copenhagen store. In terms of playing, it's up to the store manager how strict they want to be. Plenty of people proxy models in that store, although I haven't seen any chairs.

The proxy issue is a bit of a weird one. I think they will tend to say no a lot of the time due to the need to sell stuff. Or tell you that you can only proxy 1-2 times before having to buy the model if you want it. Also it depends how much of a proxy it is as well. If you are just saying "I want to try my raptors out as warp talons" then I think most will let it go, but if you say you want your terminators to count as Obliterators then they might argue the call.
The strange thing is as far as I know (don't generally go in to my local GW to much) they don't sell magnet kits. These things can be insanely good and they could make a lot of money selling them to people who want to use a Melta 1 game and Plasma the next, or have a Maulerfiend they want as a Forgefiend the next game (examples of 2 things I normally magnet). If a kit has some essential parts required by both things but end up in different places I tend to try to recreate them out of modelling clay or greenstuff or frequently for pipes I can use pipecleaners / straws or various sizes.

Then again my Proxy Heldrake is great and I use it a lot. It is made from an Eldar Crimson Hunter and I have some magnetised bits I add to it to make it chaosy and have feathered wings and the front end gets a lower jaw.

I doubt you will ever see a mag kit from GW. They would rather have you buy more models.

I think they should, it would make them money
Because how many people actually do buy 4 tactical marine box sets for each combo?
They would rather buy some cheap magnets...

Ebay armies for sale say otherwise. It may be getting popular now to use magnets but past history supports thier buy more approach.

The magnet kits are out there for people to buy anyway. Though not everyone wants to have to pop down the hobbycraft store or go online to buy them. But it is all free money if they did sell them.

But probably costs about 50p for them to get hold of to sell. Also with GWs general mark up + because of the convenience of being able to buy them in store with your models they could probably sell them for about £3 for 100. Also selling Magnetising kits such as a special drill and brush to clean out the holes they would get their return on it easy enough.

To the OP. Kick the WAAC players out. Seriously. Its your store, you set the tone and if people are ignoring you tell them to play somewhere else. If you feel nice give them a single warning. Something along the lines of "Start playing nice or go somewhere else". When you have WAAC players that refuse to adjust behavior it actually makes you lose sales you would otherwise get from players who don't show up. That is not sustainable.

Once you've gotten them out then set up a weekly play night that has prizes. Make up some sweet objectives numbered one through six and give one out each night to players that get two league games in (Maelstrom of War missions only). Each game you win gets you a ticket into a drawing at the end of the league. Then, at the end of the league have a drawing for a store credit.

The point is to get people playing regularly again, hopefully forming a habit.

I cannot emphasize enough that it is your store and YOU get to set the tone. If you don't you are not providing the best service to your customers and they will abandon you.

these are all great suggestions..i dont really want to start banning people, but if they start their trouble today they will be warnned that it is a possablility.

all your suggestions are great..i have tried to to prizes etc..but i find more oftne than not people dont like an entrance fee..but they still want the big Prizes...annoying

Then offer different levels of awards for winning depending on if they pay or not. 5 dollars bronze is a upgrade prize, 10 dollar silver is a extra level of prize, 15 dollar gold is top level prize potential. Give everyone another pot of paint at the end for playing thru. They get two pots of paint and if they want a chance for more, they can pay into it.

Ah, there is no fee for our league. It's a free play. You have to sign up and then the prizes are free. Idea is to get people playing regularly and then they should be more willing to pay a fee.

The free stuff you give away doesn't always have to be massively expensive. Even if you start with a £1 entry fee (not huge) and have 20ppl pay it. That gives you a £20 prize fund to divide up in to a £10, £7 and £3 or whatever prize. So cheep box of models, couple of paints of superglue and a paint.
Of course the charging thing has the problem of people complaining that you doing such a mean thing to allow them to play, and you have to keep track of who has and hasn't paid.

IMOO the better solution to having a paid entry fee is have a stealth entry fee :D How you achieve this is tell everyone that so long as they buy something equal to or over the cost of X (lets say £13 the cost of the new Mek or Painboy) gets free entry in to the prize tournament. I assume that you make a small markup on such stuff, so you will have some profit still.
This has the advantages of people will buy stuff, what they might be buying anyway, but might rush those £s out of their pockets, what I don't know how much the average Joe spends with ya per week/month or however long you plan on running the prize tourney. And depending on the up take you can vary the prizes, or even if you go for a bigger entry fee say they have to buy £30 of stuff in a month. If you make enough mark up (say £10 on a £30 purchase) and have enough players (say 20). Of course you have to pay your overheads as normal and wage for yourself, but you might have due to extra sales a £20 excess you could then use to make a prize (worth £30). Of course you can play with the numbers yourself and given enough excess and uptake it could be you can offer a huge prize like a Wraith-Knight / Imperial Knight / Stompa size model.
The additional advantage of this system is if you are sneaky you can use it to try to get rid of dead stock. One of my local stores that is an independent retailer who bought in 3 of the Eldar Ghost Warriors army boxes. He sold 2 of them over the course of 8 months but has been stuck with the other one since they came out. I am not saying you can give away a £150 box, but he is also stuck with 2 Wraith Knights as well though he did sell about 10 of them.
So you might have a dead stock of Seeker Chariots of Slaanesh or Plaguebearers or something what you could give away either saying they can paint them, use them or try to sell them on Ebay or whatever they want.
Of course the WAAC players might still win, but it will still encourage people to be giant killers. Also if you plan it right so you maybe have the competition running over a couple of months at a time, you can score each of the players and when you start the next one you can give bonuses / penalties to those who did bad / good. So if done in a points scoring system maybe the table looks like

A = 15
B = 11
C = 7
D = 3
E = 1

So you decide that you will give a bonus to those in the lower half.
During games E scores double VPs vs A & B, can always choose table end, can deploy all the scenery on the roll of a 2+ before the game. Or while he is lower on points on the leaderboard during this 'season'. D gets the same bonuses, but maybe 1 less than E is getting. C gets 1 of the bonuses but only vs A.
If the people are WAAC players, even with the overwhelming odds being stacked against them they will either be up for the challenge or maybe could be goaded them or prey on their egos saying that "You must not be good enough to beat this person", or "I thought you were unbeatable... guess not".
