How to paint bullet holes on miniature armour?

Particularly larger-shelled bullets, like a bolter.

I saw the one on the GW site, and disliked it.

Ok, no problem.

I have nothing but time.

I was thinking about painting the hole a darker shade--i really want an exploded feel.

I'll have to work on it myself i guess. I'll figure out a good method sometime, ill post it i guess.
