Hi

Just got through a mega-apocalypse battle with 19k per side

One question that came up was the number of weapons that a baneblade can fire.

Viewpoint 1 - it's by type so 5 - the main gun , the auto cannon, the demolisher, the twin linked bolters ( counting all sponsons & hull mounted togeter for 1 target) and the sponson mounted lascanons together for another 1 target.

View 2 was each individual gun mounting can target a different unit/target if desired so main gun , auto cannon, demolisher and all sponsons all aiming at separate targets in their respective fire arcs. so 8 or 12 depending upon whether it has 2 or 4 sponsons

Page 92 of the Apoc rules uses the wording "Each Weapon"

Opinions?

It even mentions the only case where the baneblade must shoot the same target, the coaxial auto cannon mounted in the turret next to the battle cannon.

Yup, all weapons on the Baneblade can target separate targets at will. Only the coaxial mount must fire at the same target as the main cannon (and you have every reason to want it to really).

Keep in mind that a co-axial weapon that hits lets you re-roll the scatter dice on the main gun, so firing it at the same target as the main cannon (which you have to anyway) really isn't a bad thing. It's just a really big gun for spotting rounds...
