I don't get the concept of seargents at all. Do you have to have exactly one to be in your tactical squad? Can you name any troop your seargent? If you can't, the SM tactical squad sprue comes with enough materials for two seargents right? Thank for all of your input.

Sergeants are the meanest, toughest, A^&holes in the squad who provide motivation by means of a size X boot. Therefore in warhammer terms for space marines LD 9 and 2 attacks for being a bastard. Sorry but only SGT per squad cause we don't work and play well with others. I say we because I am actually one of them dere Sergeant type guys.:ireful2: Oh and Sergeants get cooler toys that the troopies will either break or hurt themselves with.

You may only have one Sergeant per squad.

That Sergeant may be upgraded to a Veteran for a certain points cost (note that with Blood Angels and Dark Angels the Sergeants are automatically Veterans).

Whether Veteran or not, he may swap the Bolter for a close combat weapon and a bolt pistol. Alternatively, you can just leave him with the Bolter.

If you upgrade him to a Veteran, he may buy additional wargear from the armory - Power Weapons and Power Fist are the most common choices, but combi-weapons can certainly be worthwhile as well.

As with any squad member, the Sergeant cannot be picked out in close combat or shooting (excepting the torrent of fire rule).

You'll generally want to mark your Sergeant out somehow. Usually the weapon choices alone do this, but if you leave him with a bolter you'll want a different helmet, colour marking or something else to differentiate him.

I know its one seargent to squad, but when you buy the SM tactical squad with 10x SMs, does it come with enough sprues for two seargents so you can have 1 tactical squad and the 5 piece one for the seargents? I found two head pieces, and two mini skirt thingies, and more than two chainswords and plasma pistols. So, can I use that to make two seargents, but not in the same squad? Or do you just get to say "Oh yeah, that guy is my seargent." Also I think i gave my seargents plasma pistols, do I have to pay points for those? Thanks for you input!

The extra stuff is so you can model the stuff how you want but remember in tournaments it's What You See is What You get (WYSIWYG). It usually doesn;t matter in freindly games as long as who you are playing knows what special weapons are where. Plasma Pistols are a couple extra points for your sergeants too.

Yeah, you can make multiple sergeants from the box, but still only one per squad. A 10 man squad could only have one sergeant, but if you had two five man squads, they could each have one.

Plasma Pistols do cost points. They also mean your Sergeants have to be Veterans (since to buy a Plasma Pistol you need access to the Armoury).

I'm not sure I understand your last post. If they're modelled as Sergeants, that's what they'll be if you use WYSIWYG.

Ah crap. I just wanted them to be Seargents with pistols and CC :( What should I do with my vets now since I already assembled them. One of them already has an under coat, but I did save the sprue, so if there's any way to replace the plasma with the bolter, how would I do that?

That's not the problem/ I accidentally used plasma pistols. That screws up my army list because of the points. How am I going to change that since they are already assembled? Can anyone help me?

By and large Sergeants don't work. They get someone else to do it for them and then take the credit.

My pistols all have 12" range. I thought that was the normal range for a pistol. Or could it just be that mine are special, like my 5 point power weapons.
Lol I was thinking the same thing too, "6 inches, what are you people talking about?" Right now, I cannot actually recall with 100% clairity if pistols' range are affected by movement or not...since it's a CCW, I'm pretty sure it isn't...
And it's a PERDITION PISTOL! (12" range)
