Feel free to leave a short post on how a Chaos Boon role has helped or hindered you.

Last night I used a gift of mutation on my bodyguard bikes protecting my Juggerlord. Roled a cool 66! (never happened before for me) Basically, he provided extra protection to my Lord. Gave me the edge in a game that was probably in my favour already. To see the look on my opponents face when I pulled the Prince from my case He was forced to make changes to his tactics that ultimately sealed his fate.

Once, a mate of mine killed a Guard Sergeant with Abaddon and this was pre-FAQ, so he got Prince'd and I think we just treated him as Daemon Of Everything (not that the game went on much longer anyway).

Second was an episode of my Dark Angels vs falcoso's Chaos, and his Nurgle Lord rolled re-rolls to armour saves for his Boon of Mutation. T5 Terminator Lord rerolling armour? More likely than you think. I did the sensible thing and fed him a deathwing Sergeant after he'd been rampaging through my GKSS (I love Allies). Sergeant dies horribly, but bam, the Lord becomes a Spawn and is promplty ganked by a Daemonhammer.

Not for me but against me; few months ago before the Ork update my CSM friend ported his Chaos Termis into my back lines. This caused my 30ish Boy blob with KFF and Grotsnik to turn around after them due to the old "Scalpel short of a Medpack" rule. Dont remember if it was a Lord or a Champ but they won a challenge with a small Shoota blob's Boss Nob and he actually rolled a Daemon Prince. That squad wiped my Boy blob and ran around wrecking my back end.

Oh that was horrible, I thought I had done really well with all my boons and then that happens! also getting T6 plague champion in that game was brilliant.... even though your knights went into smite mode so it really didn't matter.....

Blob of 20 Berserkers and a Khornate Mace Prince bearing down on my Noise Marines with a Doom Siren champ and Lucius. The Daemon Prince charges--and my Overwatch with 2 Doom Sirens kills it outright. Lucius rolls on the boon table... and gets +1S on a ranged shooting weapon--hell yeah, that's a badass Doom Siren, there.

The Berzerkers have run into a ruin, now, to keep me from charging at high Initiative and shredding some fools with my Noise Marines--but that means that they're tightly packed together for my Doom Sirens, the fool! About 16 AP3, ignores cover wounds put on the Zerkers. Unfortunately, the champion of the Zerker unit had a boon that gave him a 2+ armor save--meaning that he soaked up about 7 of those wounds before I could force him to fail one, meaning about half the Zerker squad survived the double-Doom Sirening.

Probably the best boon-vs-boon showdown I've had.

It was quite a game that I played. All that was left was my Bare Bones Hive Tyrant and 6 Genestealers against my friend's last unit, a fully tooled Chaos Lord. He killed my Tyrant in the ensuing combat and I consigned my army to the hive mind. He rolled on the boons and turned into chaos spawn which was promptly destroyed by my Genestealers.

How unlucky at the very last moment. Chaos truly is a fickle thing.
