Hey all.
Having recently returned from hiatus and seeing that 40k 7th edition has been released, I am wondering whether to continue with the Nid army I own, or go back and start again with my Orks. Both options would mean I would be purchasing around £150 of models and books (not codex's) so I can willingly do either. It just depends on which army is more competitive but also fun at the same time. So if you have an opinion on the matter, feel free to say.

I would also go with orks. New codex coming out also lots of new models. Plus I have been playing an ork footslooger army for years and they are always fun to play.

In truth tyranid hordes are not the way to play tyranids. the bugs want a 40 ish small beasts (200 pts) and then godzilla all the day. Tyranid is the army f monstruous creatures.
Orks, instead, have a very good codex now, thet will make horde army with 'eavy support very competitive and funny too.
i'd say orks. also, watch out for used minis! you could find some big ork batch

Also just to add, the waaagh ghazkull supplement contains an apoc formation of a single warboss and ten units of boyz. It's also usable in standard games and gives a few awesome things. Such as being able to waaagh every turn after turn 2 and being able to field 301 models for about 2000 points.

best hoard?

Imperial guard.

Orks run in 30+ mobs per troop choice.

Guard can run with 50+ per troop choice thanks to there platoons, +big tanks orders,+ psykers+ transports+ did I mention the tanks? there really good.

As much as a nid' player as I am. I will have to say orks.

It pains me to say it but the current codex just plays better with more monstrous creatures and the crippling Anti Air issues just makes it even harder.

The new Ork codex looks really fun however.

Honestly you want to go Orks my friend.

The Nids time has come and gone as far as new Models are concerned, and the new rules have Nerf some of their Horde abilities. Orks have by far become the best Horde army, and their Individual abilities/suitability has greatly increased with 7th Edition.

I vote for Imperial Guard, even though it wasn't one of the choices, You can run them in SO many different ways, even if you decide horde isn't the way you want to go, or if in a later edition, smaller model count armies become more viable.
