I don't actually USE a Techmarine in my list, nor do I plan on using one anytime soon, I just went conversion crazy one night...

Anyway, C&C requested.

I'm really digging the bolter arm. I might have to copy you on that one-- it actually looks like it'd work well with True Grit. Very cool servo-harness, as well. I wish I'd thought of just making a Techmarine instead of buying one... I certainly have the bitz to do it left over from my Battle Company.

Love the servo-harness. I like the way you made it too, not just random bitz on a backpack, it actually LOOKS like what it does.

I tried to think about how each piece would conceivably move, and what it's purpose was... either way I had a lot of fun with it. This was my first experience with a conversion of this magnitude, as well as my first time using GS for anything other than minor gap-filling. The comments this model has received on this and other boards has really boosted my confidence in my conversions, and I've begun making a plastic Chaplain conversion, as well as using High Elf Warriors and Cadian IG to create an IG ally for my SMs in Apocalypse. With luck I'll get some more painting done on this guy and post some more pics shortly.

Twas the ridiculously out-teched backpack from the Devastator sprue, I found that the Dev sprue has a lot of bits that work great for a TM, including servo skulls, and several other pieces that Devastators have no business with, IMHO.

That backpack is awesomely done, did you just use a picture as a reference point or did you actually have a servo harness to go off?. I love the under-slung bolter as-well.

Only ref point I had was the Techmarine in my Codex: SM book, I just sort of extrapolated on what I wanted him to be, if only you could see what kind of techmarine I WANT to make but am unfortunately too incompetent to sculpt...

I used one Servo skull for my Librarian, as a familiar, and i agree the Dev sprue is awesome for great bits, same with the command sprue. I might buy a new Dev set just for the bitz somwhen...

For the arm, a little careful carving and gluing on one of the grenade-throwing arms, with a bit of greenstuffing for the connector at the elbow. Look closely at the pic for where I cut etc. If you need more help message me and I'll take some ref pics.
