Hi I'm thinking about collecting models. Ive done alot of researching and i have come up with 2 armies id like: Iron Hand and Black Templars but i just cant decide which one :x

professional help?

Well lists things you like about both and whats more important to you, people here can give ideas, but you need to be a little more specific with what you want to do and what you like about the armies so people who are familiar with those armies can get right to the detials

They are both space marines, so whatever suitsyour style.

There is no best army or w/e.

Its up to you to choose your army and command it.

here is what im looking for...

Your right i am going to give a better idea.
I luv the background of both armies the same. The idea of a never ending crusade to purge anything that isnt human is cool and so is being part machine.
So basically i am asking for the more balanced one, and the one that looks better. I want to know which army is more of both
I am at a loss and the dellima is destroying me i just cant afford to try an army without knowing it is the one i like better

They're both somewhat similar in color scheme-- black armour, after all. As far as balance goes... I think a lot of people will tell you that an Iron Hands army using the traits presented for them in Codex: Space Marines will be a bit more well-liked by your opponents than Black Templars. Templar armies are a dime a dozen and even though the new codex fixed some of the lameness going on with them... they're still pretty lame.

If you can spare the extra twenty bucks, buy both codexes. They're both Space Marine armies, and initially, you can use the same models to try out the rules. You'll most likely have a pair of tactical squads and a chaplain or captain regardless of which army you end up choosing, after all.

I would say Iron Hands due to the fact that nearlly everybody plays Black Templers these days and the Iron Hands have very interesting fluff, and quite good minis

anyways for normal marines black templars are my chioce, just cause i like em though, but more ballanced i would beleive is the iron hands, black templars seems to be a ballance of faith and CC

Well, chaos is also always a good choice :wink:

My vote is going to the Iron Hands, for several reasons;

- you wanted a balanced force and as said using a codex legion you'll be able
to tailor a more balanced list. Beyond giving you a more flexible force, this will
also make it possible for you to adjust your forces. So if you'd want you could
make an assault oriented force.

- Dreadnoughts as either HS or Elites, giving you a more flexible forcechart

- Any Elites dreadnought will become venerable, removing the 0-1 of venerable
dreadnoughts.

- Iron Fathers (Techmarines) as HQ choices (scions of mars) and they make
terminator armour cheaper and avaible to single models.

- I really like the look of cybernethics and the upgrade bits for them are also
very cool link and they combine really well with iron warrior bits

i prefer the look of the Iron Hands, much more modelling opportunities with them than with BT IMO.

I wasnt really serious. But the templars are cool, I dont see why anyone would take techmarine captains over them.....but there are an awful lot of us.
