G'day guys
my friends and i have just started playing and we were just wondering about the way the assault weapons rule works. When it says for example "assault 3" does this mean it can fire 3 times and then the figure can assault in the assault phase as well or is that the figure fires in the asault phase and if so does it take a turn to change weapon to a close combat weapon.

thanks in advance
Woodzee

P.S sorry if you guys have been asked this before but i tried to find it on here before i posted the question

G'day, and welcome to the forums mate :)

For your particular question, it works the first way you describe - a person with an assault 3 weapon can fire three times, and then assault. Remember that you can only charge the unit you shot at, so you can't shoot one unit and different one.

As for the restrictions on changing weapons, there aren't any. You can only fire one of your shooting weapons in the shooting phase, and you can only use two close combat weapons (or one two handed weapon) in the assault phase, but you can shoot with one weapon, charge with the other. So your Nob can fire his shoota, then charge in and use his Power Klaw, without worries.

At any rate, future questions should be put up in the "40k rules Questions" section of the site, but since you're here, why don't you introduce your self a little? What Orks have you got, what are your friends playing, how long have you been playing, and so on? :)

Anyway, welcome again, and I hope I helped a little!

ok thanks for that i will use that forum in future for questions

i am still building my ork army so far i have the AoBR orks set +10 stormboyz, 40 extra ork boyz of which 20 i turned into 'ard boyz, 5 extra nobz and 3 kanns and a trukk (i got this thinking that i could fill it up with the stormboyz and drive them into the thick of it and then let them jump out but then was told jump packs can't ride in vehicles), of my friends there are space marines, neckrons and tau.

have been looking at other peoples lists to get some more ideas so yeah is good to see these and get good ideas from these.
