Maybe I'm just in a bad mood or I forgot to take my anti- hate people drugs , but I just want to talk about what help me with my list means (to me at least).

I don't think when someone posts here to get help with a list it means trash it and tell them everything sucks, and then give them a cookie cutter list. If that is what we are suppose to be doing here then get rid of all but one color and just print a list in the the BRB because who needs a codex or options?

When a list is presented look at the list, see what they want to do with it and then add to or offer suggestions. Don't rewrite the whole list so that it looks like everyone elses. If that is what they wanted then they would just write a thread "Give me a cookie cutter list please".

If you do not understand or agree with the list, ask how they plan to use it. Don't just call it stupid then cut and paste a cookie cutter over it. Everyone knows there are great builds and tourny armies, but again if that is all we wanted, see above and pick a color.:headbutt:

maybe just say you want to stay as close to your original idea in the first post so people dont go totally "creative" on it, dont mean to start an argument or anything coz i totally understand what you mean :victory:

dude, you have isse's, if a person is looking for advice on a list they shouldn't cry if they dont like the reply. end result is that if you dont like the advice then dont ask for it.
This is true..

But I see your point of view. But I don't think the people trash the lists tbh, they give advice on what is good and bad. At least thats what I've experience, I have to agree with the highlighted bit...

Grinnsira, I can see where you are coming from. What you have described doesn't usually happen very often, but it is occuring more and more recently. I think what people struggle with is that they think there own list is great and that every other list is not as good. There is also a sticky about requesting non-competitive list, etc. but unfortunatley most competitive lists are the same. I have seen posts which basically boil down to "All you're units are crap, take these" with no explaination. I think this is the root of the problem. If someone can justify why one unit is better than another within an army, then this problem wouldn't exist.

I think the way to avoid the situation you have describe is to state that although you want it to be competitive, you either want to keep certain units or you want to build around a theme. Another if you find yourself being told your choices are bad is to ask for the poster to justify why the are bad. There usually is a reason.

Belial the last part of your statement is almost right, in that if you don't like the advice, don't accept it, but the first part is unnecessary and borders on a personal attack.

Its all good. Its not my list. I read 3 posts yesterday and they were all blasted the same way. One of the post was from a new player. I guess I just think people should before they blast peoples lists, especially when the first line is "I'm new".

To Master Belial I know I have issues, thats what I like about me :)
