Help with Eldar

707 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Damned Fist
My 12yr. old son received some GW gift certificates for Christmas and is anxious to spend them. I was just wondering if there are any Eldar players out there who can offer him some direction in what he can get to improve his list?

HQ: Eldrad
Autarch with swooping Hawk wings

Tr: 12 Guardians with warlock
12 Dire Avengers

El: 6 Howling Banshees (Transported in a Falcon)
6 Fire Dragons (Also in a falcon)

Hv. Wraithlord
2 Falcons (noted above)

Fa: Vyper

So..., now what? Harlequins?, Swooping Hawks.., tell us what 9ideas you have and why?

Thanks all:victory:

A heavy weapon platform for the Guardians would be a nice addition if you don't have one already.

You have lots of Heavy Support already and a fair number of Elites. Harlequins are a powerful unit, but your Falcons are full already. I'd personally hold off on them for a bit.

The two slots that could be filled out a bit are Fast Attack and Troops. For Troops, I recommend the new squad box with 5 Dire Avengers and a Wave Serpent. That would give you 17 in total (enough for two units with a good bit of staying power) and a transport to put a squad in.

There's a number of options for Fast Attack. Guardian Jetbikes are technically troops, but they capitalize on your army's mobility. I'm a big fan of the Swooping Hawk models. Shining Spears have received a boost from the old Eldar 'Dex, so they'd make an impressive and rarely seen addition. None of the choices in Fast Attack are 'bad', so it would really depend on what models appeal to you.
