here's the next part people.. enjoy.
“Lord Captain we have arrived at the next jump coordinates”.
“Very well Chief, proceed with the jump”.
“Yes lord, (turning to his left) crewman Gregis release the jump safety locks”
“Yes Chief”.
Grid 623 opened up before Captain Perdithus’s eyes. The sight before his eyes gave him a sick feeling in his stomach. His huge hand flexed as anger boild up from the depths.
“Chief, condition red. All crew to their stations, get our defences and weapons online. Contact Captain Dreg, order him to get the fleet into battle formation and follow us in. Those traitorous sons of whores are to be exterminated, not one is to be left alive”.
Crewmen rushed around on all decks getting to their stations. Green lights flashed up on the bridge one by one as defence and weapon bays came online. The view screens on the bridge showed carnage on a grand scale. Two fleets were blasting the hell out of each other. Two ships lay floating dead in space, two others had lost helm control and were slowly drifting apart and yet still fought with desperation each trying to destroy the other.
On one of the other screens green dots came to life as the friend and foe recognition system kicked in. a gasp issued from crewman Gergis’s mouth.
“Chief, my Lord… its…it’s the 3rd fleet. Four ships minor damage, one has suffered loss of helm and the sixth is derelict”.
The view screen zoomed in on the nearest ship, a chaos marine barge. Ripples of joyous anger surged in the Captains soul, the ship held markings of the Hydra.
“Chief, we have found our pray, commence attack on the Alpha Legion fleet, send a message to the 3rd fleet inform them that the 4th fleet has arrived”.
“Yes sir, all batteries fire at will on the enemy fleet. Relay message to 3rd fleet”.
Engines flared as Captain Perdithus’s ship moved forward to close the gap between itself and the enemy. The side of the ship erupted in flames as huge shells blasted from the barrels missiles jumped from launch tubes. A barrage of fire and death descended on the Alpha Legions ship.
“Impact in 4..3..2..1..contact”.
In front of his eyes Captain Perdithus watched as the enemy ship reeled from the attack, shards of metal splintered away from the hull, followed by great streams of ozone as parts of the ship depressurised. Huge rents in the structural innards could be seen as explosions raked the floundering ship. The bridge crew’s hands flew to their eyes as one of the magazine at the rear of the Chaos barge exploded with such ferocity that it caused a cascade failure that led to the warp reactor to implode on itself.
Aboard the flag ship of the 3rd fleet, Lord Commander Castalus II was issuing orders to form a battle line. Bastards had been waiting for us, he thought. The 3rd fleet had jumped in to the sector, only to be met with a hail of shells which in a matter of minutes had, rendered one of his ships useless. The tide was slowly turning in their way as one of the enemy ships had gone down under the counter attack. The Commander was yelling for his fleet to focus on two ships at a time thus gaining fire power over their foes.
“Emperor burn your souls, gunners focus fire on that ship”.
“Lord Commander another fleet as just entered the sector, off our port side 178 by 467”.
“More Alpha Legion?”.
“Not sure my lord the friend or foe display is non operational they seem to b…… in coming transmission…”.
