Hey i just recently got into warhammer 40k and i wanted to start coming up with a good 1500 point list. 1500 points is what the store by my house plays with so thats where i gotta start. im really interested in the nurgle guys so id like to have some implementation of them in my list.

What i have so far:

Chaos Lord - 140 pts
Jump pack
dual lightning claws

Chaos Space Marines - 285 pts
Aspiring Champion
Icon of Nurgle
Plasma Pistol
Power Fist
Meltagun
Heavy Bolter

Well you are quite a few points shy of 1500 my friend :p Nevertheless, here's what I'd add for a Nurgle army:

Troops: At least 1 squad of 7 plague marines (preferably 2 squads of 7) with according champions or whatever they're called.

Fast Attack: 5 or 10 Raptors. Give them melta guns and/or melta bombs and you've got a terrifying anti-tank force.

Heavy Support: Here's where you can go any way you want. I am a vindicator fan, and fill the other two slots with Obliterators (2 squads of 2, or 1 squad of one and the other with 2, whichever points-wise you can fit). Havocs aren't bad either, although I don't like reg. troop heavy support

i was thinking of something like that. the guys that i had shown is what i had already bought. but the list i came up with was:

Chaos Lord - 140 pts

Possessed chaos space marines [x5] - 190 pts

Khorne Berzerkers [x12] - 282 pts
Skull Champion
Power weapon

Plague Marines [x10] - 300 pts
Plague Champion
PLasma pistol
power weapon
plasma gun
Meltagun

Chaos Raptors [x5] - 150 pts
Aspiring champion
Dual lightning claws
meltagun

Obliterator cult [x2] - 150 pts



Not sure if everything on this list is viable/legal/good/balanced but it looks decent from what i came up with

dont get possessed unless you put them in a land raider and on top of that, dont give them mark of nurgle unless you have at least 10 (9 is acceptable if a lord/sorcerer is joining the squad).

For your list, why not drop the plasma pistol on your champ because it can kill him if it over heats. Then drop the possessed and get 10 more raptors. 15 man raptor squad with a lord is terrorfying and people wont expect it.

Cut the zerker squad down to 10 men so you can fit them in a rhino. Give the skull champ a power fist and the zerker squad some plasma pistols. The raptors need an extra melta for better tank busting capabilities.

Maybe turn the chaos marine squad into 7 man plague marine with plasma pistols and champ with powerfist. with the leftover points, try and squeeze in a third obliterator but make him 1 separate squad so he can shoot at different enemy units.

Everything else looks pretty good. If you want the ultimate combat squad get a 9 man zerker squad; skull champ with power fist, 2 plasma pistols for the squad, Kharn the betrayer and put them in a landraider. Guarantee you that they will kill more units than 4 terminators and abbadon in a landraider any day(unless you roll all 1's)

These guys are all over the place. Plasma on champs are a bad idea normally. If you really think you need the extra firepower, keep it, but if it overheats it will kill your champ (and thats a lot of points). Give these guys some direction. Meltagun is an assualt weapon and the Heavy Bolter is obviously heavy. If you want these guys to move forward every turn you won't ever shoot the heavy bolter. If you want to use them as a fire base drop the melta gun because it won't be used.

Most people seem to hate possessed, but they can definately do some damage. I would definately drop the IoN though, its way too many points to only effect 5 men. I would go with a Icon of Chaos Glory or nothing here.

Khorne Berzerkers [x12] - 282 pts
Skull Champion
Power weapon

Great choice here. These guys are one of the nastiest cc units in the game. The power weapon is definately the best choice for them as well, but you may want to add Melta Bombs to the champ so they have a better chance if the end up assaulted by a walker.

Plague Marines [x10] - 300 pts
Plague Champion
PLasma pistol
power weapon
plasma gun
Meltagun

Again, plasma on champ, bad idea. The plasma gun and Meltagun are compatible with each other, but you may see more use doubling up with one or the other. I would definately give the champ a power fist though. Plague Marines go at initiative 3 which is lower than most armies you will come against anyway, so a Power Fist is a great choice for these guys.

I love Raptors, but I wouldn't run this few. These guys (I'm assuming) are going to escort your Lord into battle. They need to be able to hold up to a good bit of firepower (people will be afraid of that lord). I would throw some more numbers into this squad and probably give them another melta. Either way, I would at least add an Icon of Chaos Glory.

Obliterator cult [x2] - 150 pts

Not my favorite choice, but you've got plenty of melta's in this list and these guys should clean up whats left.

Spot on by pyro, the plague marines are slow, so there is less of the problem of the squad wiping out everything before the champ can do something useful.

Plague marines and berzerkers have great synergy, they can hole an enemy squad in place, or direct the squad so the berzerkers can have their way with them. if you really want the nurgle, drop the vanilla csm squad pretending to be a plague marine squad, the same points will buy plague marines, which will perform better. The loss of the heavy bolter is made up for by the second special weapon and the increased mobility.
