So after a successful birthday of gaining many new Ork models, I need some help making sense of it all. Ultimately I'd like to do a Kult of Speed list or maybe a Speedy Dreadbash. I love bikes, a lot, but I also love Kans too. Anyway, this is what I have so far, any help is appreciated.

HQ:
Warboss w/ Big Choppa
Weirdboy

Elite:
10 Loota/Burnaz

Troops:
50-60 Boyz

Fast:
9 Bikes

and 1 Trukk (with 2 more on their way)

I'm picking up a Battleforce next day day aswell. Any help would be greatly appreciated folks!

Nice, happy birthday :D

What I´d go for would be something along the lines of:

Warboss
-Warbike
-PK
-Cybork
-Squig

10 Lootas

~7 Nobs on bike, 2 Pk´s, Waaghbanner, some bosspoles, and a painboy, also be sure to stack them separately for more cheeze :D

Boys (imho) goes best in 20 man squads, ded killy, and not too much of a pain to move. I´d go with 3x20, or 2x25 (dont forget, out of 2 Loota/burna packs, just sacrifice 10 boy bodies, and you´ve got amazing 10 of each! :D)

Seeing from your new "tools", you got 3 battleforces, and there you get trukks, Its not my flavour (since IM a cheeze bastard, and so´s my friends so we bash eachother<3), but toying around with trukks filled with blood-thirsty boys is also a hilarious thing, untill your opponents realise they can shoot them to bits with bolters (bawh).

Weirdboys are fun to give the extra ded-funny feelings orks have, but I dont find them effective, if you get the ´ere we go! you cannot assault, and the WAAGH is unreliable at best.

Also with a warboss you can make a nob-unit a troop choice, which would make one of your troops ded killy, and a priority target, while your trukks zooom around and pincer move the enemy.

Well, taking some Trukks and some Bikes is a good way to make your army worse. Target priority gets easier for your opponent and they two don't particularly mesh well.

That said, a Trukk swarm with Biker Nobs would be interesting if a bit of a risk.

I'd either go all mech with Battlewagons or try out the speedy Biker/Kanz set up with Wazdakka making Bikes Troops and Kanz providing support firepower.

IA8 is so awesome, every Ork player SHOULD have it if you got da cash. Da Orky pictures, the rules, the stories, the different klans, the posters...its all awesome.

You can field both speedy vehicles and kan behind to support, like the hammer and anvil approach a GW staff used. Max out your trukks (at least 4) to make your opponents have a hard time choosing which to shoot, and your kanz can run into range and shoot/assault your opponent. A group of Kanz have no problem getting stuck in to squads with no high strength melee weapons, or Power Fists/Klaws.

You may want to convert your regular bikes to Nob bikers + Painboy, as they are dead hard and give your opponent headaches with their natural cover save, good toughness, and Power Klaw/s on wheels. The Wierdboy is too random and can potentially kill yourself in the process, so its best to spend points for him to upgrade to a Warphead.

Competitive wise, the Wierdboy/Warphead doesn't cut it because the Warboss and Big Mek w/ KFF or SAG is much better than him. But of course if you're playing for fun, its fine...you can even change him to Old Zogworth and try to change an IC to an angry squid! :p

I actually really like this idea, is the list on the GW website or anything?

and would I put the Painboy on a bike too? If you could put together a rough list that'd be awesome :) include stuff I don't have but would need too, like Kans obviously and how many, etc.

thanks dude, thats a really cool idea.

I couldn't find the article in the GW website too...I guess they removed it.

But many people are talking it over at the-waagh forums here about that strategy. Go read some of their suggestions and you'll get the idea right. :)

And Happy Assembling your models! :p

and the shere fun of a possible 5 shokk attack guns 3 mounted on vehicles or maybe a few lifta droppa wagons a rough list for orks would if your willing 2 get IA8 which at 45 quid is pricey but worth every penny is

warboss zhadxnark 150pts
(allows bikers as troops and has a pk that goes in initative order)

6 nob bikers stick bomz pain boy all have cybork bodies
2 power klaws 4 big choppas waghh banner 2 kombi skorchas and
3 big choppas 426pts steep but worth it all different and a feel no pain save 2

17 bikers (nob power klawx2) 495 pts

lifta waggon riggers and armour plates 240 pts
choose a tank if in range roll a scatter dice if a hit lands there on an arrow can be moved upto 24 along it and then suffers d6 glancing hits if it hit a unit they take 2d6 wounds another tank that suffers d6 glancing hits 2

then mekboy junka ard case 2 rokkits and

" Hammer: Ork Bikers, Snikrot and his Kommandos, A Trukk Mob or 2, and some Buggies

Anvil: 1 or 2 30 Boy Mobs, Lootas, Big Mek w/SAG, 1 or 2 Boomwagons

I also like to use a Battlewagon or 2 and Cans as a Pivot point.

This general list has worked very well in my local winter tournaments. I have a record of 12-2-1 in the last 2 tournaments. The idea is to give them too much mid-range dangerous stuff to be able to kill. If my enemy concentrates on killing one thing, somethink else will get to him. I like to do most on my damage up close and personal, and tend to choose more weapons that have an anti-personell function. I LOVE Big shootas, shootas, and Deffguns. "

thats a quote from the post. I rather like this idea, but I thought Kommandos were borderline useless?
